Huron Bruce Swingers plan dance season
The executive of the Huron
Bruce Swingers Square
Dance Club, Lucknow, met
Thursday evening, August
13th at the home of the
president, Gloria and Donald
Dow, R. R, 3 Wingham to
plan the upcoming season of
activities.
While the club does not
dance regularly during the
summer months the dancers
have enjoyed several sum-
mer dances. The first of
these was held in Blyth
PublIt School by the Clinton.
Wheel'n Dealers and was
well attended.
Huron township man dies
RUSSELL ALEXANDER
COLLINS
The death of Russell. Alex-
ander Collins, Huron Town-
ship, occurred in Kincardine
General Hospital on Wed-
nesday, September 19, 1979
following a brief illness. He
was 68.
Born in Huron Township
on April 9, 1911, he was the
son of the late Charles Col-
lins and the . late Jo -Anna
McDonald.
He married Dorothy Rob-
ertson at Bervie on March 7,
1936.
He is survived by his wife,
sons, Roy, Huron Township;
Arthur, Kincardine Town-
ship and Carl, Calgary, Al-
berta and one daughter,
Eileen Martzas, Crossfield,
Alberta.
He is also survived by a
brother, Walter of Kinloss
Township and two sisters,
Margaret Graham of Kincar-
dine and Ruth Colwell of
Toronto.

The funeral took place
from the MacKenzie and
McCreath. Funeral Home in
Ripley on Friday, September
21, 1979 where Rev. Robert
Clyde conducted the service.
Burial followed in Ripley
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Morley
Scott, Bert Thompson, . Har-
vie Thompson, Joe Emmer-
son, Donald Reid• and Don
Dore.
Flower bearers were Rick
Thompson, Dick McCosh,
Randy Collins and Donald
McCosh.
On 'July 7th and July 28th
dances were held in Brook-
side. Public School. Guests
attended from Clinton Whe-
el'n Dealers as well as other
neighbouring clubs,
On August 18th some club
members travelled. to Lon-
desboro to extend congratu-
lations to Hattie and Edwin
Wood on the occasion of their
50th wedding anniversary.
This was a surprise party
given in their honour by the
Clinton Wheel'n Dealers and
was a very enjoyable evening
of dancing and entertain-
ment.
Dancers from Clinton and
Lucknow spent the weekend
of August 25th camping at
Point Farms. A workshop
was held Saturday afternoon
with a dance in the evening
at the barn under the instruc-
tion of Glen and Doris
Patterson. On Sunday morn-
ing all joined in a community
breakfast and many attended
church in the barn. In the
afternoon all, went to the
beach f o dance on the sand or
in the water. This entitles
several members to receive
sand flea or duck badges
which will be presented later
in the year.
In September Huron Bruce
Swingers entered floats in
Lucknow Fair , and Dungan -
"non Fair.
The Huron Bruce Swingers
will begin regular dancing
Lucknow Public School on
Thursday, October 4th.
Round Dancing instruction
will be given by Peter and
Sybil Chandler for one half
hour just prior to square
dancing. A fun night will be
held October 11th at Luck-
now Public Schoorfor the
purpose of introducing pros-
pective dancers to modern
square dancing. Anyone in-
terested in becoming a
square dancer is invited to
attend this evening and join
in the fun.
