Kingsbridge Club goes on. safari

On Wednesday, August
15th, nine members of the
Kingsbridge Youth Club
travelled by van to the Lion's
Safari, Rockton. Lorraine
Brophy, Lucknow, did the
driving, accompanied by Sar-
ah, Rachel and Jane. They
picked up Fr. Ed Dentinger
and the following members:
Bridget and Jackie Dalton,
Frances and Diane Van
Rooy, Joanne and Eddie Van
Osch, Kathy and Annie
VanDiepen and Mary Lu-
anne Clare. This trip repres
ented the final event of their
Youth Club activities for the
season.
The fourth meeting to plan
activities for senior citizens
was held in the Kingsbridge
Parish Hall on Thursday,
August 16th, with a good
turnout. Election of officers
took place with the following
people elected: chairman,
Mrs. Bernadine Kinney; sec-
retary, Miss Helen McCar-
thy; treasurer, Mrs. Mary.
Frayne alternating with Ter-
esa Courtney. Directors are
Brother Carl, Pearl Con -
gram, Mary Frayne, Berna-
dine Kinney, Vivian Hogan,
Helen McCarthy, Bessie Mc-
Nee; Evelyn Errington, Mar-
cella Courtney, Teresa
Courtney and Fran Riegling.
Activities were discussed
and the decision to go ahead
with plans' for the projects.
The following people agreed
to look into the cost°. of
equipment that will be need-
ed: games, recording and.
,,sound equipment, Brother
Carl; film projector, • Bessie
McNee; photography and
micro -film reader, Bernadine
Kinney. The next meeting
will be held on Thursday,
September 13th at 2 p.m.,,
Plans . for an evening of
entertainment , early in Oct-
ober will be finalized then.
Everyone is welcome , so
come on out and join us in
this worthwhile programs.

Mass In Thankiviging on
the occasion of .Ar ie and
Sybilla VanDiepen's 25th

VanDiepen family led the
Recitation and the Rosary.

Diepen, gave the readings,
and the family joined in the
Offertory' Procession follow-
ed by the Renewal of their
Marriage Vows. It was a very.
impressive Mass. The church
was filled with their relatives
and friends as well as
summer visitors and parish-
ioners. A reception was held
in Saltford Valley Hall after
Mass. The Kingsbridge com-
munity wishes. the VanDiep-
ens many more years of
happiness.

tended the community bridal
shower for Flora Simpson
held on \Thursday evening,
August 16th, in Ashfield
Presbyterian Church Hall.
Flora is to be married to
Craig Wardlaw, of Water-
ford, Ontario, on August
25th in Ashfield Presbyterian
Church.
Robert and Lynne O'Neill
and son, Kevin, and their
friends, Ralph and Candy
(Monroe) Sleeth, all of Brant-
ford, are vacationing at the

Monroe family cottage. at
Shamrock Beach. Robert and
Lynne attend Mass at St.
Joseph's Church often dur-
ing the summer.
Father Ed Dentinger and
Mr. M. Chalut spent Mon-
day in Kitchener visiting
with Father's sister Miss
Armina Dentinger, and his
brother and Father Lea Den-
tinger, who is a patient in St.
Mary's Hospital, Kitchener.
A complete recovery are the
wishes of the Kingsbridge
parishioners.
Lil and Mike Semenuk and
family of London, friends of
the VanDiepens, attended
Mass and the reception for
their friends on Saturday
evening.
Mr. and Mrs. John O'Neill
of Jackson, Michigan, spent
the weekend at their cottage
at Huron Sands. Their guests
for the weekend were Mr.
and Mrs. Emmett O'Neill
and Mrs. Fay Deaver, all of
Jackson, Michigan.
Mrs. Charles Schindler
and childen, Charlene and
Carol, returned to their home
in Marysville,.. Michigan, af-
ter spending a week's holi-
day with their uncle, Mike
O'Neill,

Fifty-six people attended
the O'Neill reunion, organ-
ized by Miss Carrie O'Neill,
Goderich, held at Harbour
Park, Goderich, on Sunday,
August 19th. Those attend-
ing from a distance were

Tom and Karla Hogan and
family returned home Sun-
day afternoon. They spent a
week's holiday .in Southern
Ontario. They camped out at
Rondeau Park on Terrace
Beach for three days, and
during their stay there they
visited with Karla's relativ-
es, her grandfather, Fares F.
Edmondson, Chatham;
aunts, uncles and cousins.,
Esther and Paul Giroux and
family, Marie and Bill Van-
Caille and family, all of Kent
Bridge, Barbara and Bev
Simpson, of Ridgetown, her
mother's family; her great
aunt, 97 -year-old Frances
(Riegling) Donavon, resident
of Meadow Brook Nursing
Home, Chatham;. and John
and Luella Riegling, their
sons, John and Jim of
Harwich Townships her fath-
er's family. The latter part of
the week they spent in Strat-
ford with Tom's sister, Rose-
mary and Stan Holloway,
Chris and Denise. In spite of
the cold, •.damp weather,
much the same as it was
here, they enjoyed their holi-
days.
Max and Helen. Riegling
spent the weekend at Col-
lingwood, staying at Pleasant
Manor Motel. They visited
points of interest and toured
the Scenic Coves on Georg-
ian Bay, Margaret Frayne
looked' after their four little
sons..

wife of the late Matthew

away on Tuesday, August
