Barbecue dinner for Hackett reunion at Ashfield
The 31st Hackett Reunion
was held at Ashfield Park on •
Sunday, July 8, 1979 with 57
in attendance, A bountiful
barbecue dinner was enjoyed
by all.
Jim Bradley welcomed all
present and we repeated the
Lord's Prayer in unison,
Three lucky spot prizes
were won by. Cliff Hackett,
Heather Lindsay and "Joan„
Hackett.
The minutes were read
and a vote of thankswas ex-
tended to Jim Drennan for
bringing and looking after
the barbecue. The 1980
picnic will be held at the
same place on the second
Sunday in July with a
barbecue.
The same executive will
carry on for another year.

Thirty friends of the Helm
descendants met on Sunday,
July 1st at Ashfield Park for
the 41 ' year _with a basket
dinner.
Jim Hunter asked 'the
blessing and everyone enjoy-
ed the meal. The president
Tom Helm decided the past
year was a good year, as the
friends recalled nodeaths
since the last Helm picnic. -

Walter Dexter of Lucknow
died in Wingham and Dist-
rict Hospital on Monday,
July 2, 1979 in his 75th year.
He is survived by his wife,.
Anna Kennedy and two
sisters, Elsie, Mrs. William
John Ensign of Goderich and
Emily, Mrs. Howard Robin-
son of Strathroy as well as
several nieces and nephews.
