On Saturday afternoon,
June 23, .the weather was
really like that in the fall
of the year - cold and
windy. As a result, the
• sidewalks and streets
were. bare until the
wedding party of Mr. and
Mrs, Kevin Cook arrived
from the 8th, west to liven
things up. However it
must have been cold for
them sitting in the open
on an antique vehicle.
Kevin is the, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Graham Cook of
Ripley and his bride is the -
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Bob Simpson of Kintail.

lovely old town of Perth
and surrounding country
and then on to The
Colonial Motel at
Gananoque.
Next day they saw the
Upper Canada Village
Eisenhower Locks,
Moses Saunder's Power

out at • noon and they
boarded a boat at Por-

Rideau Lakes'. This was a
highlight of the trip as the
water was lovely.,
scenery beautiful and a ,
commentator said much
about the Rideau Canal
and locks tracing . the
story back to the building
of the canal by Col. John
Bye in 1826. The whole
system is 125 miles long
with only 13 miles ar-
tificial. What a
tremendous task was
accomplished by Col. Bye
and his engineers.
The meals were good at
all times. Each evening
different entertainment
was provided and en-
joyed.
On the way home the
group visited the. Ontario
