At the close of the service on Sunday Clifford Laidlaw spoke words of ap- • preciation to Miss Brown and Jack Whytock and Dave Gibb presented her with a clock and mirror. - Rev. Brown thanked all for their kindness in remembering her in this way. Murray Gibb left last week, to work for the holidays in Manitoba with Mr. and Mrs. and Mrs. Joe Tiffin, Joey and Mrs. Elizabeth. Tiffin were in Goderich onnday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Snowden. This week in WHITECHURCH by Valetta Emerson Carl Gibb in the Brandon vicinity. To celebrate Bill Snowden Junior's third birthday, Mr. Whitechurch WMS Mrs. John de Boer gave the opening worship at the W.M.S. meeting at the home of Mrs. Bill Evans on Wed- nesday afternoon. The scripture was read by Mrs. John de Boer. The meditation and prayer was also giveri by Mrs. John de Boer. Mrs. Al Falconer gave a reading, "Attending Church"., The offering was •received and dedicated by • Mrs. Wallace Conn. • Mrs. Archie Purdon gave • the topic, Bankruptcy, from Jean Scott's Rocking Chair Reverie. Mrs. Wesley Tiffin gave a •. reading, Friend.. Mrs. Don Ross, president, took over the business session. The minutes were read by the • secretary, Mrs. Bill Purdon. The roll was called, answer- ed by 12 with a flower of the Bible. The Lord's Prayer repeat- ed in unison closed the meeting. LADIES AID MEET The Ladies Aid meeting •was then held. Mrs. John de Boer gave the financial state- ment of how :much was on hand after paying for the carpet in the living room, dining room And hall. • The ladies decied to have a booth at Ken Dowling's sale on July 10 and sell pies, sandwiches, coffee and pop. The collection was. received. • The Mizpah Benediction closed the meeting. O• People Be Wrong? On Sunday at Mayfair Restaurant banquet room a kitchen shower was held for Wendy England, bride-to-be of July. A large crowd was in attendance.
