[Sentinel Staff,Photo] May publish Grey Ox history BY ELIZABETH DICKIE A large group of people interested in the continuation of the Grey Ox project met Saturday, June 23 in the Kairshea Hall Harvey Mac- Dougall of Bayfield chaired ,the meeting with Graham MacDonald of London acting as secretary. The main discussion of the meeting concerned future plans for the possible publi- cation of a "historical booklet of the area. Graham Mac- Donald and Sandy Nicholson presented other publications and explained their cost and format. Pharis Mathers, commit- tee member of the Bruce County. Historical Society, commented on his experi- ence with New Horizons grant system. After discussions it was agreed that they contact all former contributors and re- quest human interest stories, anecdotes etc. of the early • days.It is hoped that all others in this area will also' co-operate by submitting helpful suggestions and for material to Jack Needham, R. R. 5 Lucknow. Another meeting is plan- 'ned for October. A cup of tea and light lunch was served while reminiscing continued. Sandy Nicholson brought - Xeroxed copies of early land purchases in the area from the Archives. Most were dated from the early 1850s. These are most interesting. Some present found'copies of the Original grantS of their farms.
