Christine Robertson presided for group 2. A minutes silence was observed in memory of two deceased members Mrs. Hazel Ramsay and Mrs. Nora Frederiksen. Hymn,. "The Church's . one Foundation" was sung. Portions of scripture were read by Erma MacDonald and Mary Culbert. Lenore Hooey read a tribute to Mothers -"Sacrifice brings gladness". Marilyn Johnston sang sweetly "I've a mansion over the hilltop, ac- companied by Violet MacKenzie. A interesting tape was presented by Margaret Blue on "Human Rights" by Rev. Bruce McLeod. Dr, McLeodspoke of violence in cities on subway stations, store windows broken in, people terrified and down graded because of being of other races; 15 percent Of the population of Toronto are of different races. We do not like this nor, do we want to be interfered with. Who. do we let into our country? Who keep out? We should be one family in God. Churches should be friendly and out going to receive other races of people. Margaret Blue stated that 31 people were made citizens of Canada lately in this area. ' The Hymn "Glorious things of Thee are Spoken" was sung. Anne McCosh presented the program for Group 1 Sandra Forrester gave a splendid talk on "child -abuse" chosen because this is the year of the child. She said if we hear children crying too much or are suspicious or see bruises or (narks on a child, it is our duty to investigate and report these cases. Also teachers never should down grade children as they can, be abused in this way. Parents should take time to listen to their children. Margaret Blue read a poem "Jesus Loves me" from "The Year of the Child." Anna McTavish gave the usual courtesy remarks. Members then went to their own groups for the business meeting. Money jars are to be passed by Group 1. The rollcall was a "Child -hood memory". Lunch was served by Lila Tranter and Dorothy Holborn for Group 1 and Katie Irwin, Mabel Barnard and . Christine Robertson for Group 2.
