All mem- bers were in attendance - Reeve Foran presided. The minutes of the April meeting were read and adop- ted on motion of Councillors Aitchison and Durnin. By -Law #6,1979 was given third reading and finally passed on a motion by Coun- cillors Durnin and •Aitchikon.. This by-law authorizes the sale to Grant Chisholm of one acre of land off the gravel pit farm.. Motion by Councillors Cran- ston and Aitchison, "that the clerk is hereby authorized to apply for ' an advance from the Ministry of • Housing in the amount of $27,500 under the Ontario Home Renewal Program". Motion by Councillors Durnin and Hickey,, "that West Wawanosh 'Township hereby adopts the Ontario Home Renewal Program Guide for residential proper- ty as its basis for building standardsin the Township". Motion by Councillors Ait- chison and Cranston, "that West Wawanosh Township hereby approves the pay- ment of a one hundred dollar grant to the Lucknow Agri- cultural Society and the Dun- gannon Agricultural Soci- ety" Tenders for the construc- tion of a portion of sidewalk in Dungannon, and removal 9f old concrete from the site beforehand were opened and discussed. Eight tenders were received for construc- tion and 6 for the.removal 6f the old sidewalk. Tenders for construction ranged from $3,570 to $14,400 .and for removal of concrete from $475 to $1800: 'Motion by Councillors Aitchison and Hickey, "that the tender of Murray Simpson, RI R. 3 Winghatn, at $3,570.00 for construction .of sidewalks in Dungannon; and the tender of . Cecil Cranston, R. R. 2 Auburn, to remove and dis- pose of the old concrete at $475.00, are hereby accept- ed. Motion by Councillors Hickey and Cranston, "that the Reeve is hereby author- ized to -sign, on behalf of the Township, an agreement with John Hakkers for drain- age of road water across his -property„ Motion by' Councillors Durnin and Cranston, "that Building Pertnits be issued to T. Pegg, for a workshop and D. Graham fora .garage". The clerk was directed to Set ri2ll rate write J. Smith to the effect that a building permit could notbe authorized until the correct property registration was established. Motion by Councillors Cranston and Aitchison, "that a building permit for the Lucknow Christian School Society be refused on the grounds that all condi- tions set down by the Land Division Committee on the issuance of the severance, had not been met. An Application for Loan for tile drainage submitted by G. Ribeyy was accepted by Council on motion of Coun- West Wawanosh Township Council reconvened at a special meeting on .Thursday, May 3rd at 3.00. p.m. in the Municipal Office, toconsider the 1979 budget and to set mill rates for 1979. • Mill rates to be collected for this year's taxes were adopted by` the passage of By -Law. #8, 1979. The road accounts were ordered paid on motion of Councillors Aitchison and Cranston. The general accounts were passed for payment on mo- tion of Councillors Durnin and Hickey. Christian School Assoc. meets On Friday evening, April 27, the Lucknow. Christian School Association held their annual meeting in the Christ- ian Reformed Church. Mr, Burgsma opened with pray- er. Approximately 40 mem- bers were present. Several reports were given by the different committees. The building committee re - Calf club meets at Hackett.. farm On April 17.a meeting was held at Chester Hackett's farm, R. 7 Lucknow for the officers of the 4-H Beef Calf Club of Dungannon. The club arranged the year's coming events. The coming meetings and events are held in the order as follows:. regular meetings, Stewart Smith, June; John Clarke, July; Geor8e Sinyth, August.
