Kingsbridgefamilies make. a :trip to the zoo

all spent' Easter Monday
visiting the Toronto Zoo.
Congratulations to " Mr.
and Mrs. Doug Scott on the
birth of their baby son at the
Wingham and District Hos-
pital on Thursday, April
19th. This is a first grand-
child for Mr. and Mrs. Reis
Miltenburg.
Also congratulations to
Mr, and Mrs. Steve Reaburn
of London on the arrival of
their baby daughter, also
born on April 19th. Mr. and
Mrs. John Van Rooy are also
grandparents for the first
time.
Joe Courtney" has been a
patient in the Wingham and
District Hospital for the past
few days.
- Ray Dalton is a patient in
the Orthopedic and Arthritic
Hospital at 43 Wellsley East,
Toronto. It is expected he
will be there for a month.
Ray might be . glad to hear
from hisfriends and we wish
him a.: speedy recovery.
Harry Van Diepen is now
employed in Tillsonburg
making kilnsfor drying'tob-
acco.

on Saturday in Stratford.
Mary Van Diepen was hon-
'oured at a bridal shower at
the Parish Hall on Wednes-
day evening.
Following a short program
Mary was assisted in open-
ing her gifts by her sister
Annie, and Diane Mole.
Mary will (be married this
Saturday to Bill Mole.
The annual. Pro Life Vari-
ety Night was held at St.
Mary's Separate School,
Goderich on Friday evening,
April 20.
Emcee for the evening was
Seamus Doherty of Clinton,
in charge of audio was
Damian Bradley.

In the Junior Girl's game,
Kingsbridge overwhelmed:

with a hat trick, Gerda Hen-
dricks with 2, Vicki Doherty
scored 2, with singles scored
by Mary Katherine Stapleton
and Sally ' Van Osch, In the
Junior Boy's game, Goderich
won a close game by an 8 = '7
score. Kingsbridge scorers
were: ;Ken ''Van Osch with 3,
Tom Gilmore- had 2, Darren.
Connelly and Darrell Durnin
had one each. The winners of
these games go to Stratford
for the Huron -Perth Finals
on Saturday, April 21st.
Students at St. Joseph's
have, signed up fora "Read
a-thon" sponsored by. the
Multiple Sclerosis Society of
Canada. Students get spon-
sors who pledge so much
money for each book read
between now'and' May 18th.

South Kinloss church

The South Kinloss Church
service was different but
very , effective on Sunday
when the group called "Mi-
me's The Word" from Owen
Sound put on a pantonine.
Their director was Myles
Caskie and they are connect-
ed with the' Kiwanis Club.
This group travels around.
from place to place and are
very good.
Visiting with Mr. and Mrs.
Dick McQuillin and Ron were
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Jenson
of Cochrane.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stever
and Doug attended the wed-
ding of Kay's nephew, Peter
Luckhardt in Owen Sound on
Saturday. Then on Sunday
attended the mini Lions con-
vention in Port' Elgin. .
Rev and Mrs. Hummel
showed their slides of China
at Trinity United Church on
Sunday night and a numher
of interested folk from Sodth
Kinloss enjoyed the evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Fisher
and family of Walkerton
were Saturday evening din-
ner guests with Mr. and Mrs.
Ken Houston. and Anly.
The Faith and Fellowship
group of South Kinloss met
at the home of Mr. And Mrs.
Donald MacIntyre,and family
on Sunday night.,
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Clark and family enjoyed a
celebration with her family
when they celebrated Wil -
ma's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Glenford Davis' 40th wed-
ding anniversary last week-
end in Brantford.

and Mrs. Lorne Saunders

A comedy routine was
done by "Alice" from Sea-
forth, singing "My Sweet
Little Alice Blue Gown" and
"Come Tip -toe Through the
Tulips with Me". Later this°
smartly dressed "lady" sang
irish songs as himself, Frank
Sills.
Mary Catherine, Maureen
and Patricia from St. Aug-
ustine sang several songs
accompanying themselves
with two guitars.
Wilfred Hogan of Goderich
played violin selections ac-
companied on the piano by
Martena Schneiker.
Three rish Irish lassies
This week in

The three McQuaid sisters
of Seaforth delighted every-
one with their violin rendi-
tions accompanied by their
mother at the piano and later
in the program they step
danced.
The five Stapleton sisters,
Heather Ann, Christine,
from Dublin, •Cathy• Kelly,
Lucille and Janie Delaney
sang Irish songs and played
the piano.
Seamus Doherty Sang
"Danny Boy".
Aepe Unsal who will be.
singing a lead role in a pres-
entation at Clinton High
School sang songs from
"Finnian's Rainbow".
The last number on the
program was the Kings-
bridge Quartet - Father Ed
Dentinger, Elmer Umbach,
who also played the accord-
ian, Eugene Frayne and:.
George Brophy. They, sang
"On the Sidewalks of New
York", "My Bonnie Lies
Over the Ocean", "The
Little Brown Church in the
Vale" and others.
Seamus remarked that the
calibre of the entertainment
was professional. The aud-
ience by their appreciative
response heartily agreed.

thanked all the performers,
Ken Rudy who organzied the
program, and all who helped
out in any way.
