Visits Purple Grove
from the west

The annual meeting of the
Community Centre board
was held last Wednesday.

Mr, and Mrs. Morley Scott
visited on - Sunday evening
with Mr. and Mrs. Don
Doupe and family at Millar -
ton. The Scotts also attended
the Shelton-Farrish wedding
at Lucknow on the weekend.

Sunday to. Edmonton after
spending the past 3 weeks
with his parents, Leonard
and Freda Maclnnes and
brothers, Jack . and Mac,.
preparing for their farm auc-
• tion sale held April 'f. The
100. acre farm has been con-
- -- tintiously in the MacDougall
family since Freda's grand -
patents settled there in 1852.
They purchased the farm
from 'the crown in the first
land sale held at Southamp-
ton. This farm on lot 1,
concession 2, Kinloss, has
been bought by Mr. Edwin
Middlebrook from the Mal -
ton area.

bus to Nashville, Tennessee
on Easter weekend where.
they attended the Opry Show
at the new Grand Ole. Opry
Hall, toured O.pryland,
U.S.A. and were also privil-
eged to sit in on a filmtaping
of Mel Tillis. Those who went
on the trip were Harold and
Dorothy Errington, Lloyd
and Doris Hodges., John and
Linda MacDonald, Ross and
Elaine . Errington, Bill and
Elsie Hardy, Margaret

Mac MacInnes and Dick
McCosh have returned home
after touring ` Key West,
Florida, part of Mexico, :,
Texas, California,' Arizona,
British Columbia and Alber-
ta. They were . away six
weeks.

On the way home they toured
the Corning Glass Company
at Corning, • New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Con Hogan
of Ashfield visited with their
daughter, Fay of London and
accompanied her to spend
the weekend with relatives in
Jackson, Michigan.

entered Victoria Hospital,
London on Thursday: of last
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver
Glenn, Lucknow, returned
home last week after spend-
ing three .months in Florida.
