This unit began with a study in tempera paints of a small portion of a coloured photograph or actual stuffed bird, fish or crustacean. The purpose of just analyzing a small part of their animal was two -fold: to observe that colours have many nuances and 'to develop a pictorial structure based on the prin- ciples of unity and repetition.... To end the painting unit, Ow to dry'flowers The delicate shades and fascinating shapes of spring and summer flowers can be captured for winter arrange- ments through the art of drying plant materials. You are invited to learn the skills of this craft at a demonstration to be held at the Lucknow Branch, Bruce County Public Library on April '23rd. The program, Which starts at 2 p.m., is sponsored by the library, the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Georgian Bay Regional Library System and the Outreach Ontario pro- gram of the Ministry of Culture and Recreatiort.
