ELAINE POLLOCK The Ripley hockey scene really picked up momentum this week with just about all the teams in action. In Tyke play, Ripley lost to a Kincardine squad 2-0, with Dean Morrow scoring both goals for Kincardine. The boys fared better against a different Kincardine Tyke team Friday night, defeating them 3-1. Robbie Thompson scored. the first goal from Rob Wood,. and Scott van den Hogen and John Kelly scored unassisted goals, Steve McLeod got the -lone Kincardine marker. The first game in tournament play at Blyth was a crusher for Clif- ford, as Ripley„ outclassed them 19-0, Billy Patterson led the attack with 6 goals and 3 assists, with. the other .scorers being; Blair Scott, 4 goals and 3 assists; David Hodgins, 3 goals and 4 assists; Vincent Wright, 1 goal and 3 assists; Jeff Chalmers, 1 and 1; John Bak, 3 goals; and Darryl MacKay, 1 and 1. The next game - with Kurtzville was a little tighter, with Ripley winning 5-3. Blair Scott had a 'hat trick, Billy Patterson had 1 goal and 1 'assist, and Jeff Chalmers scored the other tally. In the final game for the cham- pionship, , they let Belgrave get 2 goals in the first period before Vilncent Wright, from Steven Courtney, put Ripley on the scoreboard. Randy Collins played defence, and Ken Thompson was in goal for the shut -out. In their second game, Lucknow had them 4 -line the third period, when the Ripley guys exploded with 3 goals in 4 minutes to tie the game. They then went on to win 5-4 in overtime. Paul Harris scored the first goal, then Eddie Moore, Paul Keelan and Danny Wood got the quick goals. Danny Wood scored the winner in the overtime period. This team plays their third gam -e in Goderich Thursday afternoon at 4:30. This same • team defeated. Mildmay in the playfs 7-3.
