After a lopsided victory in Lucknow, the squad thought they just had to show up for another victory. Trailing 5 - 3 going into the third period made them think otherwise. The final score was 7 - 5 for Lucknow. Leading the scoring was Steve Sintpson with 3, Brad Humphrey with 2, Mike Dennis and Doug Dorscht with singles. On Monday, February 12 playoffs began with Paisley to decide a 0.M.H.A. rep- resentative* this area. Brent VanOsch got the lone marker for the Rangers. • The Leafs were defeated by the Red Wings 2 - 1, when the Haldenby boys did the scoring for the Wings. Glen scored twice and Mark Once. Mike Whytcroft scored once for- the Leafs. • w. The Bruins led the Black Hawks to a 9 - 2 defeat. Steve Frayne scored four times, Michael Taylor Igot two and, Steve Errington, Colin Cam-. • eron and Chris Naylor each scored once. Hawk goals were scored by John Hopf and Leonard Kohnert. Area snONST • mobilers in • snowarama Several Lucknow snowmo- bilers loaded their snowmo- biles and travelled to Wing - ham to take part in ,the Snowarama for Timmy two weeks ago. All completed the 100 mile run to help raise several Ithousand dollars for crippled children. They start- ed out early in the morning and arrived home after the supper hour, tired but con- tent with the knowledge they had had a good day and had 'accomplished something worthwhile. N out on top 9 - 7 after building up an early 7 - 3 lead. • The only line showing much promise was Al Rivett, Ed Davidson, Doug Dorscht with 12 scoring points. January, 28th. saw the locals in Wingham and they defeated their opposition 7 - 1. . In Port Elgin the following night the locals went down to. a 6 - 5 defeat, in a well played game. This was the first time in this manage- ment's experience, a juvenile team has played .an entire game of hpckey without -being assessed -a single penalty. • To. wind up the regular season play, Lucknow hosted Ripley, Wednesday, Febru- ary 7th, with a decisive 10 -4 Victory for Lucknow. Despite being short of players and sometimes having to rely o assistance from some mem- bers of the Midget team, -they lost only 5 games of a 20 game schedule and only one game at home.. They ended up third in the standing, , behind Port Elgin and Tees - water and scored more goals than any other team. This team could be a strong contender in the 0.M. H.
