A new brother for Michael. Also former residents Mike and Kathy Rody (Hal- lam) are proud parents of a new son Brian Keven, born at St. Joseph's Hospital, London, on Wednesday, Jan- =uary 24th. A new brother for Janice and Steven. Mrs. Dale Weber of Bel - more held a demonstration of Amway products at the home of Mrs. Mary Bere on Friday evening. She was assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Weber and Mrs. Jean Selling of the Brussels area. Sympathy is extended to Orville Free, daughter of Jean Plaetzer and family of Auburn on the recent pas- sing of Mrs. Free. Mrs. Free passed away in Clinton Hos- pital on February 1 in her 83rd year. There were about 70 people present from Stratford, Kincardine, Goderich and surrounding area. Megan and Jennifer Eedy, twin daughtersof Mr. and Mrs. Bob Eedy of. Mississ- auga, recently had their, ,..picture in a Toronto paper when they attended a Par- ent's of Twins club party. Mrs. Mary (Gord) Schultz had the misfortune on evening„to fall and break her right arm. She had a cast applied on Sunday at ham Hospital. Mrs. Marvin Durnin was released from Goderich. Hos- pital on Friday where she had been a patient. She was being treated for a back ail- ment suffered . from a fall - previously. DUNGANNON •UNITED CHURCH Rev. C. G. Mrs. Park used to write Dungannon news for the paper about 12 years ago. Things have- grown in Dungannon since then but Mrs. Park manages to keep on -top. of most of the activity. Mrs. Bere, being, a member of Dungannon United Church, 'will continue to write the church news for her and her son brings home the " Brookside school news. Writing the Dungannon news column is not much of a burden, says Mrs. Park. She feels she is going to enjoy being the. correspondent again because the ..Dungannon news column is , something that is' needed. in her community. HOLYROOD•4-11 CLUB On Friday, b`ebruary 2 the first meeting of the'Holyrood 4-H club was held .at the home of Mrs. Barbara Ging- rich. Leaders are Mrs. Bar- bara Gingrich and Mrs. Shir- ley Stanley. ¢ - Elections Were held with these results: president, Lea- Anne Haldenby; secretary, Beth Gingrich and press re- porter, Wilma Duiker. Mrs. Stanley introduced the requirements of the course. Mrs. Gingrich gave the group a brief history of accessories and the girls discussed how to choose accessories to suit . their shape, colour and size.. spoke on the topic, "Beyond and Back", in which he made reference to the recent film of similar name, and to books, in which . the writers resear- ched the experiences of many people who were on the threshold of death and then recovered and returned to life. The children's story, "Take Your Choice", fitted in with the Old Testament scripture story of Abraham giving Lot his choice of land. The choir sang the an- them, "The Lord's My Shep- herd". The nominating commit- tee, comprised of Lloyd Hbd- ge Hasty, Mrs. Amy W ggins, • s. Webster and ayne Snyder, is to meet soon to prepare for the. .• annual meeting which is within thenext two weeks. CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH The Women's Missionary and Service Commission will hold ^their monthly meeting this Tuesday -at the home of Ruth Johnston. This will take the form of a quiltingbee and also, a time for cutting quilt patches. Mrs., Lawrence will give a brief devotional mes- sage. The senior girls of the Children's Bible Club will meet in the Lawrence home on Friday evening at which the girls will begin to knit slippers and also continue to study the Christian charm course, which they are cur- rently discussing. A group, from the church was to attend Listowel Men- nonite Church on • Sunday evening where a play named "Christ in the Concrete City" was to be put on by the Drama Club of Emmanuel. College, but it was cancelled due to poor weather.
