Hard work, always keeping
busy, is a recipe Mr, and Mrs.
Ira Campbell give for their 70
years of happy •married life.
Mr. and Mrs. Campbell will
celebrate their 70th wedding
anniversary on December 1.
Both are enjoying good health
and are alert and active. Both
are in their 90th year.
In 1958 they moved from.
Lucknow and had a new home
built in Belgrave. Until a cou-
ple of years ago when Mrs.
Campbell was hospitalized for
a few days, neither had beers in
hospital.
Mr. Campbell is a son of the
late James Campbell and Sarah
Ann Wilson and was born at Bel-
fast on the farm now owned by
Dynes Campbell. The family
moved to Thessalon about 70
years ago, before the advent of
the railroad. There Mr. Camp-
bell was raised and spent much
of his life. He is the eldest
and the last survivor of the
Campbell family of four.
Mrs. Campbell is the former
Gertrude Garniss, daughter of
the late John Garniss and Annie
Coultes Garniss of Bluevale,
where she was born. The Gar-
niss family moved to Thessalon
district a year after the Camp-
bells and it was there that Ira
Campbell and Gertrude Garniss
were married on Dec. 1, 1897
by Rev. W. R. Sealy of the
Methodist Church. Mrs. Camp-
