We do not need a special day
To bring, you to our mind,
The .daya we 00 not think of
you,
Are very hard to find,
To know we never said good-

Will always bring regret;
But God broke our hearts to
prove to us,
He always takes the best.

And when old times we oft
recall,
It's them we miss him most of
all,
—Always remembered by

Dougall, aunt Doreen, uncle
Alvin and cousins. 23p
VINCENT—In loving memory
of Mrs, Albert G Vincent,

Deficit now;
surplus expected
GODERICH-- Although the
county roads department shows
a deficit at the moment of
$33,908, by the year end this
deficit will have been wiped
out and a small surplus is anti-
cipated, County Treasurer J
G. Berry told the members of
Huron County Council at the
November Session in Goderich
MoHnde payo.
inted out that the High-
ways department always oper-
ates with a deficit until the
year end.
Mr. Berry said that the other
departments are operating with-
in their budgets and the finan-
ces for the balance of the year
appear promising. Financial
reports were presented as fol-
lows: general account, high-
ways, county health unit, coun-
ty library, County Home, and
Children's Aid Society.
DUe.to increased demands on,
the finances of the county dur-
ing 1967, original borrowing
bylaw for 1967 will have to be
amended from $300, 000 to
$400,000, he stated.
" Although no definite in-
formation is forthcoming, there
is every indication that the
Province of Ontario will be re-
sponsible for the cost of admin-
istration of justice after Jan-
uary 1, 1968", the treasurer
predicted. "Details haven't
been made known to us; there-
fore I cannot advise the saving
as far as the county is concern-
ed, but the amount could range
anywhere from $60, 000 to
$90,000."
The clerk-treasurer reported
on a recent convention of the
Ontario Counties in Niagara
Falls, which he had attended
as a delegate. The County of
Huron had so many resolutions
he was put on the committee,
he said.
The convention endorsed
the following: 100 per cent
exempt members of municipal
councils from contributing to
the Canada Pension Plan; but
filed a Town of Clinton resolu-
tion regarding Juvenile Delin-
quents Act, and referred to
committee, a proposed income
tax exempt-ion for councillors
up to $1, 600.
The first hospital meant for
treatment of tuberculosis pat-
ients was opened in 1840 in
England by Dr. George Boding-
ton. Despite demonstrable
improvement in his patients'
health the hospital was ridicul-
ed so severely by his fellow
physicians that it was necessary
to close it. In 1859 Dr. Her-
man Brehmer opened a hospital
for tuberculous in the Black
Forest in Germany. It remain-
ed open.

enough, "Or coupe it is, Over Margie replied, "Well, my
there they use clOtnestic cheese, goodness," said the neighbour,
and here we use imported." "I'd never have known it,"

DOES GLAMOR
SELL NEW CARS?
Well, it must help, judging by the millions the auto
makers spend on promoting new models to dealers alone
before they are even seen by the public.
In the same way that a pretty girl is even prettier when
she's fashionably dressed, we are all influenced to some
extent by the glamor treatment.
But like the young man whose sales resistance is shatter-
ed whenever he looks at his beautiful financee, we should
ask ourselves if she would make a good wife as well.
If a car maker and his dealer representatives are to
keep a customer in the years to come and cash in on the
expensive promotions that helped win him over in the first
place, they must deliver what they promise.
Acting with responsibility on warranty claims by custo-
mers may top the day by day actions that prove to the
customer that the dealer and the factory mean what they
said.
Prompt service that gets the car back into the customer's
hands with the work properly done the first time helps
equally. The pay-off to the dealer is a customer that stays
in love with his new automobile—even after the glamor has
worn off.
If you're in love with one of this year's safe and beauti-
ful cars, you'll enjoy your romance more if you give some
thought to the "marriage,"
