Tournament
Fourteen rinks participated
in the men's doubles tourna-
ment for the Lloyd-Truax tro-
phy on Monday evening of last
week with entries from Hanover;
Teeswater, Lucknow, Seaforth
and Wingham.
The trophy was won by J.
Kerkhof and B. Schaus of Han-
over.
Teeswater rinks won the re-
maining prizes, with Stewart
MacDonald and Lloyd Sillick in
second place, and G. Roane
with A. Blair and T. Weiss with
Dr. Leahy tying for third and
fourth positions.

BBLMORE—The September
meeting of the Belmore Wom-
en's Institute was held in the
hall on Tuesday evening of last
week. Mrs. Thomas Inglis was
the convener. The topic of the
meeting was "Health". Roll
call was "What I admire most
in elderly women".
Mrs. Oscar Kieffer introduc-
ed the guest speaker, Mrs. Wil-
liam Edgar of Wroxeter. She is
a nurse who works at the On-
tario Hospital in Palmerston,
and she spoke on "The Emo-
tionally Disturbed Child".
Mrs. Harry Mulvey presided
for the business of the meeting.
Lunch was served by the host-
esses, Mrs. Ken Chambers, Mrs.
Ralph Dickson and Mrs. Earl
Fitch.
Mrs. Gordon Scott of Ripley
and Mrs. Earl Caslick are spend-
ing a few days this week with
their sister Ida, Mrs. Emerson
Morris and Mr. Morris of Chi-
cago, prior to their leaving for
Florida for the winter.
Mr. Wallace Conn is em-
ployed at Charlie Hodgins im-
plement shop in Wingham.
Miss Lynda Coultes, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald
Coultes, is this year attending
Stratford Teachers' College.
Returning to the University
of Western Ontario, London this
year are George Conn, Murray
Coultes, Elwin Moore and
Wayne Farrier. Elgin Sleight-
holm is taking a course in Tor-
onto.
