Personals from Whitechurch Rev. F. Swaine officiated for the wedding of Donna Marie Millen of Kitchener and James Thomas Ross of Waterloo in Sacred Heart Church, Teeswa- ter, on July 29. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Millen of R. R. 1 Tees- water and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ross, R.R. 5 Lucknow. The church was decorated with baskets of white gladiolus. Mrs. James Fischer sang "Ave Maria" and Cathy Kennedy was organist. The bride was given in mar- riage by her father. She chose a formal sleeveless gown in French faille with empire waist and A-line skirt, and a coat with scalloped chantilly lace appliques which draped into a chapel train. The coat featur- ed lace trimmed trumpet sleeves and empire midriff. liar headpiece of petals in self- lace and pearls held an illusion veil. She carried a white or- chid on a white prayer book. Her attendants were gowned alike. Each wore a formal sleeveless coat dress in green silk organza over taffeta, the empire midriff trimmed with lace. The coat's trumpet sleeves were also trimmed with lace. The matching petal and rosette headpiece held a puff veil. Miss Mary Millen of Kitch- ener, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. The brides- maids were Miss Doris Ross of Whitechurch, sister of the groom, and Miss Joyce Millen of Waterloo and Miss Shirley Millen of Kitchener, sisters of the bride . Each carried a cas- cade of white shasta mums. The bride's cousin, Darlene Millen of Teelwater, was flow- er girl. The three ush- ers were John Willis of Listowel, Richard Aarssen of Wallaceburg and the bride's brother, Robert Millen of Teeswater. Lunch was served at the home of the bride and supper and a reception were held at the Formosa Community Hall. The guests were received by the bride's mother who wore a tur- quoise lace coat over a linen dress with turquoise and white accessories. The groom's mother assisted and her ensem- ble was a pink crepe dress with white accessories. The moth- ers each had a corsage of white carnations. A yellow linen floral coat and dress with black accessor- ies was worn by Mrs. Ross for travelling to the Muskoka Dist- rict. Her corsage was a white orchid. The couple will live at 248 Shoemaker Ave., Kitchener. Wed at Pt. Credit The marriage of Susan Janet Niergarth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wm. Niergarth of Orchard Heights, Port Credit, and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey C. Niergarth of Wingham, to Manfred Michael Hansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Heinz Hansen of Kingston, On- tario, took place on Friday, July 28th, in the Morgan Me- morial Chapel, Queen's Uni- versity, Kingston. The newlyweds, both.stud- ants at Queen's University, will reside at 558 Frontenac Street in Kingston. —Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell El- liott and family of Ailsa Craig visited on Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Gordon Elliott of Edward Street and with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott of White- church. Trousseau tea for granddaughter at MacLeod home A trousseau tea was held at the home of Mrs. Peter Mae- Leod on August 2 for her grand- daughter, Miss Mary Ann South- am, whose marriage to David Curzon takes place in St. An- drew's Presbyterian Church on September 1. The guests were welcomed by the bride-elect, her mother, Mrs. Peter MacKinnon, and the groom's mother, Mrs. Helen Curzon. The trousseau and gifts were shown by Mrs. Douglas Skinn in the afternoon and by Mrs. Fred Steinmetz in the evening. Pouring tea in the afternoon was the bride-elect's great- aunt, Mrs. Alex MacLeod of Lucknow, while another great- aunt, Mrs. Harry Nixon, also of Lucknow, poured in the eve- ning. Lunch was served by Mrs. James Lambertus of St. Clair Shores, Mich., Mrs. Lloyd Keeler of Mitchell and Mrs. Louis Hutton of Wingham. Honeymoon in Switzerland Mary Ellen McPhail, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael McPhail of West Sacramento, California and formerly ofWing- ham, and Richard James Huff- man Jr. were married in Pine Methodist Church, San Francis- co on July 21 by Rev. C. M. Sudeth. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. .R. J. Huffman Sr. of Carona Del Mar, Calif. Both the bride and groom are third year students at the University of California, Irvine, and they will make their home in Laguna Beach when they return from a wedding trip to Switzerland. The groom's attendant was Robert McPhail, brother of the bride, who had just returned from. Viet Nam. Miss Cindy Smith was the bridesmaid. The wedding breakfast was held at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. Mrs. Huffman attended both public and high schools in Wing- ham. —Bobby Sell of St. Paul's visited a few days this week with David Walker. Kenneth George Henry of Wingham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melville Henry of Owen Sound and Joan Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Keeling of Owen Sound exchanged mar- riage vows in St. Mary's Ro- man Catholic Church in that city on August 5. Rev. M. L. Pierce performed the ceremony and Miss Ann McGarrity was organist while Miss Corrie Van Trigt sang Ave Marie, The Lord Is My Shepherd and Teach Me Thy Way. The church was decorated with fern, gladiolas and candles. The bride's gown was floor- length Swiss dot over taffeta with empire waistline, with detachable train, short sleeves and square neckline edged with small white daisies. She wore a mantilla of Swiss dot mater- ial and daisy edging and car- ried white shasta daisies and fern on a cross. Her attendants were gowned alike but in different colors. Their sleeveless floor-length gowns featured empire waists and detachable trains in fiesta brocade material. Each wore a rose headpiece of the same col- or and material as her dress and carried a long stemmed yellow rose and fern. The matron of honor, Mrs. Roy McKenzie, sister of the bride of Owen ..,ound wore party pink, Brides- maids, Miss Gail Miles. Owen Sound, wore soft yellow: Mrs. Howard Turner, Brampton, wore orchid; and Miss Nancy Wilkin- son wore aqua. The flower girl, Miss Leslie Henry, we're a dress the same style as that of the bride with- out a train, white shoes and gloves, and carried a basket of Shasta daisies and fern. Miss Donna Rintoul and her friend, Miss Marilyn Forwell, of Kitchener, spent the week- end with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul. Mrs. George Caldwell of Blyth visit- ed Monday with her daughter, Mrs. Bill Rintoul, Mr. Rintoul and family. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Morrison received an invitation from government officials to be present at the opening of the Toronto Exhibition on Thursday of this week. Miss Goke Neyringh of Hol- land and her friend arrived here the end of the week to visit at the home of her sister, Mrs. Peiter DeBoer, Mr. DeBoer and family. They will stay with the family while Mrs. DeBoer and Hilda go by plane on Tues- day to visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Neyringh and family in Holland. Mr. and Mrs, Gary Robinson and baby Sandee of London, visited on the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cal- vin Robinson. Mr. David Beecroft of Tor- onto and Miss Janet Beecroft of London spent the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beecroft, Mr. Melvil- le Beecroft of Otterville was al- so a recent visitor at the Bee- croft home. Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lougheed and family of Fort Erie and with their daughter, Doris, who is holidaying there. On Monday they received word that Doris, while swimming, had cut her foot which required several stitches. On Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Fred Daw and family visited with her sister, Mrs. Robert Willie and Mr. Willie of Moorefield. Mr. and Mrs. George Cur- rie spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Frank McConnell and family and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry and shoes, white gloves and bag. The groom's mother wore a mint green sheath of guipre lace with full length shantung coat of the same shade, match- ing hat and shoes and white gloves and purse. Mr. and Mrs. Henry, who will reside in Bluevale, travel- led to Victoria, B.C. on their wedding trip. The bride chose a street-length pastel olive green taffeta sheath, rounded neckline of small chiffon rose- buds and a panel falling loosely from the neckline. She wore matching shoes, white gloves and purse and a white orchid corsage. St. Marie and family, all of London, David ['billion of Burlington spent the last few weeks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Robinson, and has now returned home, accompanied by Ray Robinson who will visit with David at his home at Burling- ton. On Sunday Mrs. Douglas Clare, Patricia and Jackie of Toronto, visited with her par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Daw, and her husband remained at Moorefield to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Willie. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Thompson of Goderich and their grand- children, Phillip and Louise Thompson of Tillsonburg, visit- ed on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Robinson.
