BELMORE—The July meet-
ing of the Belmore Women's
Institute was held on Wednes-
day evening of last week at the
home of Mrs. Walter Woods.
The topic was "Home Econom-
ics"; Mrs. Woods was the con-
vener.
Roll call was " a favorite
recipe of grandmother or moth-
er". Miss Lorna Woods read a
chapter from Harry J. Boyle's
"Homebrew and Patches" which
told of an old-fashioned kitch-
en, and brought back many
memories to those present.
Guests of the ladies were
members of the local 4-H Club
who have recently completed
the project, "A World of Food
in Canada" , under the leader-
ship of Mrs. Wilfred Johann and
Mrs. Evelyn Jackson. The girls
showed their record books.
Mrs. Johann spoke of the exhib-1
it presented by the members,
and also demonstrated a New
England dish called "Toast-
wiches" .
Lunch on the evening of the
meeting (and not Toastwiches)
was served by the hostesses, Mrs.,
Thomas Inglis and Mrs. Woods.
