toward determining who owns
Ontario's Great Lakes beaches,
The department is now identify ,
ing the township lots and con-
cessions that are to be examin-
ed :n determining ownership,
Following determination of this
information the department
records including patent and
survey records, will have to be
examined to determine whether
the beaches are now public or
private. Once this is done the
department will be able to de-
termine the extent of private
rights involved. Only then
would it be possible to decide
whether the best method of
acquiring private rights would
be by purchasing, expropriation
or by legislation.
The Provincial Government
has backed away from letting
the University of Western. On-
tario become the first North
American university to have a
student on its board of gover-
nors. Education Minister Wm,
Davis said he will amend the
university's private legislation
by eliminating the provision for
a governor elected by the stud-
ents,
The Legislature prorogued
this week for the summer and sc
this is the last report until the
House is called into session
again.

to construct new
bridge on Con. 4
Plans to build a new bridge
every second year had to be al-
tered when department engin-
eers advised Turnberry Town-
ship that the abutments on the
Henning bridge were deteriorat-
ing rapidly.
B, M. Ross and associates of
Goderich were asked to prepare
plans and eight tenders were re-
ceived for the new structure.
Successful bidder was Reeves
Construction of Mount Forest
with a tender of 873, 610.00,
Material to be supplied and
other work will raise the total
cost to over 8100, 000.00.
Public school and county
rates and the new bridge will
mean an increased township
rate of 4.8 mills.
Nethery reunion
at tondesboro
The 22nd annual Nethery
reunion was held at Londesboro
community centre Saturday
with 100 members signing the,
register.
During the afternoon games
conducted by Bonnie, Barbara
and Betty Snell, of Londesboro
were enjoyed by the children.
Guests were present from
Hanna, Alta., New Jersey, U.
S.A., Copper Cliff, Niagara
Falls, Milton, Bolton, Burling-
ton, Toronto, Hamilton, God-
erich and Clinton.
The prize for coming the
longest distance went to Mr.
and Mrs. Larry Knaught of Han-
na; most recently married
couple, Mr. and Mrs. David
McCallum of R. R. 1 Wingham;
youngest person present, Denise
Nethery.
Following the supper hour
the president, Terry Nethery of
Wingham took charge of the
meeting including business
items, speeches and readings.
Bonnie,' Barbara and Betty
Snell sang two songs and also
led the gathering in a sing song
which was enjoyed by all.
Gifts of salt were received
by all present from Percy Bar-
ker of Goderich,
The officers appointed for
1968 were president, Terry
Nethery, of Wingham; secre-
tary-treasurer, Mary Isabel
Nethery, Belgrave.

BELGRAVE--Morris Township
directors of the Federation of
Agriculture met on Thursday
evening at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Ernmerson Mitchell.
There were eleven present. A
motion was passed that Mrs.
Ted Fear be the delegate to
Regional Folk School in Goder-
ich from June 22 to June 25.
Considerable discussion was
held on the recent bus trip to
Lenawee County and also on the
farmers' march to Ottawa.
Tuesday, November I was
the date set for the Morris Town-
ship Federation annual meeting
with the president left in charge
of getting the speaker.
There will be no meetings
of the group till September 14.
Thursday afternoon cut the ribbon at the
