Keith McClure If you have to check your records to find out, you're a normal Wingham driver—and liable to make the very normal mistake of postponing warranty adjustments beyond -your Overage date. When the two year or 24,000 miles warranty on every- thing or the fiveyear or 50.000 miles warranty on the power train (engine, transmission, differential) officially expires, there is nothing that a dealer can do for you if you have neglectfully postponed justified warranty adjustments be. wind the closing date. We've no special criticism of most drivers who don. bother with a warranty claim until some fault occurs in the proper operation of their cars. What concerns a cOnscien- tiods dealer is to have the car brought in just after the war-rantY has eitpited. Ifyou are driving a car covered by warranty, here is a suggestion: about one month before the warranty expires, have yOUr dealer check if for any requirements that may be covered by the warranty. to Many cases, the dealer may find faults Covered by warranty before the Owner is aware of any problem, The car must be Made, available for examination and testing, hoWeVer, before this is possible. if you are, driving a Car which has had a previous owner, it Is well to remember that warranty within the set !Wits tartlet over to subsequent owners who have purchased the toe ifiedridhatid.
