denly at her home on Shuter
Street on Wednesday, May 24,
She was in her 82nd year.
The Tomei Mary Davidson
was born near Harriston and was
a daughter of the late Gavin
Davidson and his wife, Janet
Wight, She married. Mr. Smith
November 7, 1912 in Wingham.
Mrs. Smith was a member of
St. Andrew's Presbyterian.
Church,
She is survived by her hus-
band; SODS, Hartley of Tillson-
burg and Ross of West Hill; and
daughters Mrs. Ross (Alma)
Jamie= of Wingham and Mrs.
Art (Trim a) Edgar of R.R. 4
Wingham. There are eleven
grandchildren and one great-
grandchild.
Mrs. Smith was the last of a
family of eight,
The funeral service was held
Friday afternoon at the R.A.
Currie funeral home with Rev.
G. L. Fish conducting the ser-
vice and burial in Wingham
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lloyd Mont-
gomery, Johnston Conn, Glare
Niergarth, Allan McGill, Eld-
red Nichol and Morley Fletcher.
The flower bearers were DeWitt
Miller, Bill Ford, Gordon El-
liott and Neil Edgar.
Tobias Jantzi
dies suddenly
WHITECHURCH—Word was
received Tuesday that Tobias
Jantzi of Milverton was found
dead by his wife on Monday
when she returned home from
her teaching position. Mrs.
Jantzi found her husband in a
building near the honey house
where he had died of a heart at-
tack. He was in his 60th year.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Annetta Fisher of
this community, a son Donald
and twins, Larry and Linda.
The body rested at the Mc-
Mane funeral home in Milver-
ton with service at Burns Pres-
byterian Church, Milverton on
Wednesday afternoon and burial
in Greenwood Cemetery there.
This community extends
sympathy to Mr. and Mrs.
George Fisher and other rela-
tives in the etirnmunityl`
Miss McCurdy
Miss Eliza Jane McCurdy,
95, died at the Brookhaven
Nursing Home on May 26, suf-
fering a short illness as the re-
sult of a stroke. She had been
in poor health since 1956.
Miss McCurdy was born on
the 5th line of Morris. Her
parents were the late Mr. and
Mrs. Samuel McCurdy who had
a family of seven children.
Miss McCurdy was the last sur-
vivor of that family.
Miss McCurdy did housework
as a young woman and for many
years worked at Rush Ladies'
Wear.
She was a member of St.
Paul's Anglican Church and her
rector, Rev. H. W. Hamilton
conducted service at the S. J.
Walker funeral home on Satur-
day afternoon, with burial in
Wingham Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Gol-
ley, Fred Stanley, Elwood Web-
ster, Charles Rosman, John Bos-
man and William Austin.
