LES PETITS CHEFS GORRIE—The 6th meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Mel Taylor at 1:30, March 25. The president, Else Rasmussen, opened the meeting. Roll call, "What I already know about the Scandinavian Countries" was answered by 13 members. Lin- da Watson read the minutes. They discussed Danish, Nor- wegian, Finnish and Swedish foods, Other food customs were also discussed. Mrs. Laura Es- pensen made Danish smorrebrod, cabbage rolls, and ablekage (apple cake). The 7th meeting followed at three o'clock and Chinese and Japanese foods were discussed. Mrs. Taylor made steak and spinach, Chinese style, which all enjoyed. Achievement Day will be held at the Howick Central School on April 22 with Miss Sharon Carroll, Clinton, Huron home economist in charge. Plans were made for an Interna- tional Party on March 28 at 8 p.m. with the mothers and sis- ters as guests. Wright and Mr. James Allen Miss M. Wilson dies at 93 years FORDWICH—Miss Margaret Wilson, 93, died in Listowel Memorial Hospital on March 20 after an illness of seven months as the result of a broken hip. Miss Wilson was born in Peel Township, Wellington County, a daughter of the late John Wil- son and Jane Miller. She was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. As a child she came to How- ick Township with her parents and resided on Concession 6. She lived in Toronto and Bramp- ton until 1949 when she retired to Fordwich. She had lived with a niece, Mrs. Paul Adams of R. R. 2 Wroxeter for the past three years. Funeral service was held on Thursday at the Moir funeral home in Gorrie with interment in Fordwich Cemetery. Rev. Mr. Brush of Molesworth Presbyter- ian Church conducted the ser- vice, assisted by Rev. Mr. Par- rott of Fordwich United Church. Pallbearers were David Ad- ams, David Grant, John Wilson, Lorne Wilson, Roger West and Edward Watson. Flower bearers were Mrs. George Merkley, Mrs. Jerry Donegan and Mrs. Ross Durst. Attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Stevens of Kitchener, Mr. and Mrs. Lenus Wilson of Toronto Band Mr. anti Mrs. Ross Durst, Bay Ridges. Winghaat Advance-Times, Brother dies in Westminster Hospital, London David Stanley Halliday of 482 Central Avenue, London, a veteran of two wars, died March 22 in. Westminster Hospital fol- lowing a short illness. Mr. Halliday, 68, was a na- tive of Howiok Township and was a son of the late David Hal- liday and his wife, Margery A. Coulson. He attended school at S.S. 13, Howick. He joined the Royal Canad- ian Engineers during World War I and enlisted again with Can- adian forces during World War II. He spent five years over- seas while serving in the two wars. Mr. Halliday was a clerk at Hotel London for seven years and was with the Commissioners at the Army Supply depot for 16 years. He retired last fall due to ill health. He was a member of the An- glican Church, Mr. Halliday is survived by his wife the former Esther Bryd- ges of Belgrave, two daughters, Mrs. Mervin (Marjorie) Stephen and Mrs. George (Gertrude) Ca- sey, both of London and four grandchildren. He is also sur- vived by a brother, Arnold Hal- liday of Wingham. A brother Jim predeceased him in 1964. The funeral service was held at the Needham funeral home in London on March 25 with in- terment in Mount Pleasant Cem- etery. Service was conducted by Padre Canon C. G. Garner and pallbearers were six Com- missioners from the Supply De- pot. Attending the funeral from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gowdy, Mrs. C. Finlay, Mrs. E. Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Loutitt and family of Gorrie; Mrs. J.
