Rev. R, Sweeney chose as
his text, "The thief cometh not,
but for to steal, and to kill, and
to destroy; I am come that they
might have life, and that they
might have it more abundantly':
This was Christ's statement to
all men who will receive abuna
dant life.
Jesus realized how pitiable
was the estate of the poorer
people. God's storehouse is ov-
crflowing with gifts, if people
would only surrender to I Lis will.
Unbelief causes a dyke and
which keeps people away from
God.
Many people are ill from
worry. Insecurity makes thou-
sands miserable. We should
confess our sins and face life
confidently, the speaker said.
Jesus raised the standard of
spiritual life by His power. All
Christians have not entered in-
to eternal life. " We can have
life without health; movement
without progress; war and not
win; serve and never succeed;
and try but never triumph," Mr.
Sweeney said.
Only the pure in heart will
see God, if we miss the per-
sonal experiences of Christ in
our hearts, we will not know
God.
