SINGS AT GARDENS
WHITECHURCH ,- Mr. and
Mrs. George Currie returned
home Friday night after spend-
ing a week with Mr, and Mrs.
Frank McConnell and faMily of
London.
On Wednesday evening' they
attended a social function in
the Gardens when the pupils of
Sir John A. Macdonald School
formed a choir. Wendy Mc-
Connell, granddaughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Currie, was a mem-
ber of the choir and also sang
a solo, "Holy, Holy Lord God
Almighty".

On Thursday last Barry Tif-
fin had all his teeth extracted
in the Kitchener-Waterloo Hos-
pital and on the week-end
came to the home of his parr
cots, Mr. and Mrs. Pan Tiffin
of Teeswater where he will re-
cuperate for a week before re-
turning to work,
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gros-
!torch and Shauna of Toronto
spent the week-end with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood
Groskorth.
We are pleased to report
that Mr. 13111 O'Brien of Inger-
soll, who resided on the farm
now owned by Mac Brown and
who suffered a stroke the end
of December, has now fully re-
covered.

and Mrs. Clark Johnston of E.
Wawanosh were in London on
Wednesday where the former
visited with Mr. Charles Tiffin
at St. Joseph's Hospital and the
latter visited with Mrs. Charles
Johnston at Victoria Hospital.

University of Western Ontario,
London, spent the week-end

day teas will be held quarterly

be guest speaker for World Day
of Prayer, Feb, 10.
Mrs. Ken Mason gave the
financial report on the budget.

port of Christian Education.

Recipe of the Week
FLEECY 39 FRESH MUSHROOM and CHICKEN PIE
4 1/2 cups sliced fresh 1:/3 cup flour
mushrooms 2 cups stock
1 /2 cup chopped onion 11/2 cups milk
2/8 tsp, minced garlic 2 cups diced cooked
2/3 cup sliced celery chicken
2 tsps, lemon juice Ili tsps, salt
1/3 cup butter or marg. 1/2 tsp, ground blk, pepper
Pastry, using 1 cup flour
Saute mushrooms, onions, garlic and celery in lemon
juice and butter or margarine, Blend in flour, Gradually
stir in stock and milk; cook until slightly thickened. Add
chicken, salt and black pepper. Turn into a 2-qt. casserole.
Cover with pastry rolled 14-inch thick, Slit to permit steam
to escape, Bake in a preheated hot oven (375' F.) for 30
minutes or until crust is brown. Yield; 6 to 8 servings.
