0-P.P. SAFETY TIP
Generally speaking, the car
is safer than the road, and the
road is safer than the driver.
The car is easier to make safe
because there is a new model
every year. - The highway is
more of a permanent invest-
ment. Out the driver is hardest
to get at. It is extremely dif-
ficult to change his attitude.
style for a new season, We
would like to wish Gwen and
Ian every success in their new
business.
I guess some had a free tur-
key or chicken dinner for Christ-
mas, as Lois Cerson won our
turkey draw; Anne Geddes and
Don Cameron the chickens for
low hidden scores and Dolly
Hotchkiss and Gary Storey,
chickens for high hidden scores.
Helen Casemore won our spec-
ial draw, These were held at
the Christmas party,
Dot. C. will never forgive
me if I don't mention her name
as high single on December 13
of 270. She said at last she
made it and then yours truly got
lazy and didn't make a report
that week.
Our high single and triple for
ladies at halfway mark is Shir-
ley Storey 323 and 809, for men
Jim Bain, 348 and 840.

MEN'S LEAGUE
After seventeen weeks of
bowling, 2'7 points separate the
top and bottom teams. It looks
as though the Scotch n' Sodas
are going to take first place the
way they are rolling right now,
but the Velvet Hammers or the
Screwdrivers could possibly ov-
ertake them. Actually the only
reason we even mentioned the
top team this week is to make
them over confident.
Some of the better games
rolled this week were; Marty
Adler 287; BillsJohnston 270 and
a 723 triple; Andy Henderson
253; Hap Swatridge 298; Jim
Bain 293; Mac Ritchie 256 and
a 701 triple; Ken Saxton Jr. 338
and a '776 triple; Matt Boyd 264
and a 712 triple; Wayne Brown
261, 277 and a 740 triple;Brian

252 and a 710 triple; Bill Hotch-

Ted English with a 303.

MIXED LEAGUE
Marg Moffat captured all the
honors in the women's depart-
ment this week. Marg's high
single was 342 and her triple
was 699. That's startinr the
New Year off in the riyk-k gay,
Marg.
Bill Johnston won the men's
high single with 307. (He's a
good bowler, but you should see
him play chess!) Barry Fry-
fogle captured the high triple
for the men with a terrific '743.
Our spares were Louise Stain-
ton and Bill Johnston. Two new
faces in our league are June
Hafermehl and Bill Hotchkiss
who have consented to com-
plete the year in place of Fran
and Bill Edwards. I hope they

A film will be shown at the

of interest to all minor hockey
players and coaches. The film,
"How to Score More Goals" stars
Gordie Howe. It is hoped that

ALL IN '67
Now that '67 is here, I heard
some people croon,
We'll have to smarten up a bit
and change our bowling tune.
You won't hear any bragging,
We'll all good losers be.
Now here's some resolutions
That I had told to me.
Sheila isn't going to squeal or
yell
(That's what I heard her say).
Elwood's just made up his mind
To throw cigars away.
Bob's going to try his very best
To give a little grin
EVerytime he throws a ball
And gets a corner pin.
Lorna, dear, has just resolved
To lose ten pounds of weight.
Paul is going to try real hard
Not to sleep too late.
Mack's going to roll a smoother
ball
And Gail's will faster be.
Wayne will get his average up
and stay at 230.
And I'll be quite content to sit
and watch and wait,
And then if they don't all come
true,
There's always '68.

INTERMEDIATES
After a layoff of two weeks,
Junior Bowling resumed with
some real good lines rolled.
Looks like some of the gang
were doing some extra practis-
ing or perhaps some made New
Year's resolutions to try just a
little harder.
Bruce Boyd sure was in fine
form as he rolled a 302 single
and 473 double -- nice rollin',
Bruce. It was certainly pleas-
ing to see four other boys over
the 400 double, Larry Gordon
238, 203; John Phillips 263,
1'16; Don Collar 180, 241; and
last but not least, Brian Cronk-
wright (believe it or not) 201,
216. Nice rollin' fellows!
Barb Dauphin continued to
take all honors for the gals with
200 single and 379 double.

well as they bowl.
Barry Gardner led the attack

as Kathy's Killers slaughtered
Candice's Crooks 5 to 0. Bruce
Skinn rolled two fine games
15'7 and 179 and Geri Bennett
rolled a fine 138 single in a
losing cause for the Crooks.
Ruth Ann's Rollers rolled over
Marilyn's Muskateers in the
first game and stole the second
game by a measly 8 pin mar-
gin. Captain Ruth Ann Read-
man with games of 157 and 143
and Ian Shepherd's 165 proved
too much for the Muskateers.
Jane Ann's Gentries had no
trouble in taking full points
from the short staffed Jets, Paul
Forsyth and Steven Langridge
spear-headed the attack, Paul
with lines of 143, 160 and Stev-
en 106, 198.

BANTAMS
While the Junior League has
a 3-way battle for top spot, this
league has a 6-way battle for
top spot with only 7 points sep-
arating top and bottom teams.
Here's how they line up; Lulus
25, Bunnies 25, Batmen 24,
Caspers 22, Tweeties 21, Don-
ald Ducks 18.
Roger Tiffin sure was in fine
form with an amazing 179 sin-
gle, but Roger had to share the
double honors with cousin Dav-
id Tiffin as they rolled identi-
cal doubles, 283. Marlene Fox-
ton took full honors for the girls
with 145 single and 245 double.
Others breaking the 110
