World-wide communion ser-
vice was observed in the Bel-
more United Church on Sunday
morning for that congregation
and the congregation of McIn-
tosh United, Rev. D. L. Stev-
en was in charge and used as
his text Psalm 23, verse 5.The
choir sang an anthem. Mrs.
Norman Newans was organist.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Zinn of
Goderich visited on Tuesday of
last week with Mr. and Mrs.
Elmer Zinn of the village.
Mrs. Jean Muir of Sarnia is
spending some time with her
daughter, Mrs, Harry Helfen-
stein, Mr, lielfenstein and faM-

Churches, Robin Steven, Ross
Harper, Ron Harkness and
Dwight Metcalfe, attended the
Christian Young Councillors'
Convention held from Friday
evening to Sunday afternoon in
the Trinity United Church, Kit-
dva ce-Times, Thursday, Oct. 6, 1966
ehener. The theme was "Youth
Has A Place". Eight boys from
mid-western Ontario attended
the convention, and during the
session discussed such topics as
Boy-Boy Relationships; Boy-Girl
Relationships; Boy-Parent Re-
lationships; Boy-Society Rela-
tionships; Boy-Church Relation-
ships; and Boy-Future Relation-
ships.
The October meeting of the
Belmore Women's Institute is to
be held in the form of a family
night in the Belmore Hall on
Friday, October 7th. Mr. Herb
Arkell of Teeswater will be
guest and will show slides of a
recent trip. All are welcome
to attend; kindly note the
change of date. Time is 8,30
p.m.

WHITECHURCH—Langside
C.O.C. met in the community
hail Sunday afternoon during
sohurch service. The president,
Fred DeBoer, conducted the
meeting and Mrs. Charles Tif-
fin gave the opening prayer.
The Scripture was read and Bri-
an Wall led in prayer.
The minutes were read by
Agnes Conley. Roll call was
answered by 20.
The C.O.C. had sent a soft-
oall the school in San Salva-
dor where Mrs. Jas. Richardson
is the teacher. Each one of the
13 pupils had written a letter of
thanks to Langside C.O.C. for
their gift of the ball. Most of
them said that Mrs. Richardson
was the one who got the most
some runs. These letters were
read by Mrs. Tiffin.
Marty Young received the
offering. The class repeated
the names of the parables learn-
ed and Mrs. Conlon gave the
story from the study book.
WHITECHURCH—Chalmers
C.O.C. held the October meet-
ing on Sunday during church
service.
The president, Miss Janie
Laidlaw gave the call to wor-
ship and a hymn and prayer fol-
lowed. The Scripture was read
by Debbie Reynolds.
The minutes were read by
Doris Fisher. The roll call was
answered with "Something for
which we are thankful". The

son and family visited with Mr.

and Mr. Howard Walker visited
on Friday with friends in God-
erich.
Mr. Harold Walker spent a
few days recently in Wainfleet,
visiting his sister-in-law, Miss
Gertie Stewart and his niece,
Miss Margaret Canby.

primary story, was given by Mrs.
Earl Caslick. The senior story,
"George and the Chinese Lady"
was supervised by Mrs. Hugh
Simpson who had Mary Lou
Wall, Doris Fisher, Paul Laid-
law and Darlene Simpson each
read a portion. The closing
prayer was given by Mary Lou
Wall.
