For Annual Supper Expect Completion
Of Central School
In December
East Wawanosh Township's
new Central Public School at
Belgrave is expected to be com-
pleted during the month of De-
cember. Built at a cost of just
under $300, 000, this modern
new school will replace about
18 one-room and two-room
schools in the area.
Designed by architects Dun-
lop, Wardell, Matsui and Ait-
ken, of Toronto, the school is
being built by contractor, W. A.
McDougall, London, and fea-
tures nine classrooms, a health
room, secretary and principal's
office, an auditorium and gen-
eral purpose room, mechanical
and electrical room for main-
tenance, two washrooms for
boys and two for girls, plus a
staff room with kitchenette and
washrooms.
The school is to be heated
electrically. Norman Keating
of Wingham is the electrical
contractor.
Superintendent in charge of
construction is Cameron Sim-
mons, formerly of Wingham
and now of London. His father,
Gordon, lives in Wingham, as
does his brother Ken, who is
employed with the Public Utili-
ties Commission here.
Whitechurch
Mr. Barry Tiffin of Kitchen-
er spent a few days last week
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Dan Tiffin of Teeswater and
visited with his grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Orville Tiffin and
other friends in the community.
