Miss Julia Thornton was home for the week-end and Miss Jill returned with her af- ter a visit at Scarborough. Mrs. Charles Campbell, Jane, Joan, Ruth and Tommy visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Darling at Brampton. Visit Friends And Relatives On Trip to West Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Elliott of Bluevale arrived home Thurs- day from a trip to the West. They left on June 18th with Mr. and Mrs. Alex MacTavish and Bobby, and Phyllis Grant. They motored through Nor- thern Ontario, landed at Regina June 21, stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Elliott for two weeks visiting with Mr. and Mrs, Wilfred Elliott and family on the farm and attended a 25th anniversary in Stony Beach Hall for Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred El- liott and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Young. They saw a potash plant on Wilfred Elliott's farm, visited Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wylie at Kelliher, had a visit with Mrs. Elizabeth Smeltzer of Regina. They talked to Kenneth Hing- ston, formerly of Wingham and now at Regina. They left Regina July 5 on the bus for Kelowna, starting at 12.15 p.m. They went through the fountains in the day time, s oh was grand to see also Jugh nine tunnels under rock, landing at Kelowna for a week visiting with nieces; and saw the lovely fruit country. Then they took a bus for Vancouver, and visited with an aunt, Mrs. Heber Thornton, his son and family and also her daughter and family, with cousins, Mr. and Mrs. George Bigley and with Mr. and Mrs. Les Willits and Linda, Mr. and Mrs. Ken- neth Louttit and his mother, Mrs. Margaret Louttit, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Weir and family, Mr. and Mrs. Will Smith, They also had a visit with Mr. Alfred Meahan and Mr. William Bag- elson. On July 21st Mr. and Mrs. Les Willits took them to the air- port and they left Vancouver at 5 o'clock, stopped down at Winnipeg for half an hour and landed at Malton at 10 o'clock where they were met by Bob and Ruth Mothers. Mrs. Richard Bennett return- ed home Saturday after three weeks' visit in New York State, accompanied by Mrs. W. A. Willis, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Korber of Brock Port, N.Y, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Fullerton, Walkerton, Mrs. Mary Taylor of Wingham, Mrs. Mabel Stew- art, Fordwich and Miss Etta Burns were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs, Burns Stewart, Rev. G. A, and Mrs. An- derson, London, visited Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wade and other friends on Friday. Miss Joan Anderson, London, spent the week-end with Miss Carol Dinsmore, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. McPher- son, Mr. and. Mrs. Thos. Mc- Pherson and family of Teeswa- ter and Mr. Larry MacDonald of Guelph visited Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Irving Toner. Mr. and Mrs. George Brown and Jean visited Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Brooks of St. George and called on Mr. and Mrs. John Brown of Stratford on Sun- day, Mrs. Goldwyn Thompson re- turned home Saturday from Wingham hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hershey of Kent, Ohio, Mrs. Evelyn Grahame of Chatham and Mrs. T. Thomas, Wingham, were Sunday visitors at the homes of Mrs. Chas. Lawrence and Mrs. Olive May. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred King visited Mr. and Mrs. Ernest King of Kingsville. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Healey, Labrador City, Nfld., spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Mac Newton and Mr. and Mrs. Wm, Behrns. Mrs. Lorne Walker accom- panied Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Wal- ker and Brian of Brampton and attended the Robinson-Higgs wedding in Orillia and spent the week-end at Coldwater recent- ly. Mr. and Mrs. John Boyd re turned Thursday from a four weeks' motor trip in Western Canada as far as Banff and Lake Louise. They attended the Cal- gary Stampede and visited the farms near Eyebrow and Tug- aske, Sask., where 45 years ago Mr. Boyd helped with the harvesting. Mr. and Mrs. Morley Bell, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bell and family, Preston, returned Sun- day from a week's tour of Al- gonquin Park, Quebec and New York State. Rev, and Mrs. Harry Jen- nings of Huntingford and the former's mother, Mrs. Honor Jennings of Chatham were Wed- nesday visitors at the homes of Mrs. Chas. Lawrence and Mrs. Olive May. Miss Beverley May returned home after spending holidays at Huntingford. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Strong and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gowdy attended the county council pic- nic at Sea forth Park on Wednes- day. They also attended the 25th anniversary of the Federa- tion of Agriculture banquet in Belgrave Community Arena in the evening. Misses Leone Harris and Rena Bowman of Kitchener spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Harris. Mrs. Ella Barton, Fergus, spent a few days with Mr. Jas. Edwards. Mr, and Mrs. Sam. Relatives assembled at the home of Charles Mathers last week to honor his father, Hen- ry Mathers, on his 87th birth- day. Mrs. Rose Wallace, of St. Catharines, is visiting her sis- ter, Mrs. George Lowis. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Watson, from Fergus, visited their aunt, Mrs. W. J. Johnston, on Sun- day. Mr. and Mrs. Irvine Mc- Cabe, of Windsor have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnston. Mrs. M. L. Aitken and her daughter, Mrs. Donald Street, Capt., Mrs. Neelon Are Moving to B.C. BLUEVALE—Captain and Mrs. Alan Neelon, Paul and Ruth Ann and Captain and Mrs. Barr, returning from the east where they had been stationed, spent an evening with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bosman who also entertained a number of friends in their honor. Captain Neelon showed pic- tures of his trip to the British Isles where he attended the Salvation Army Centennial last year. He was formerly a minister in Bluevale United Church. He is on his way to British Colum- bia where he will be stationed. NEWLYWEDS HONORED GORRIE—Mr. and Mrs. Ian Woolcock (Linda Latronica) of Durham were honored at a pre- sentation in the Gorrie com- munity hall by the Belmore and Gorrie communities: Miss Marjorie Eadie read the address and Miss Brenda Wal- lace presented them with a gift of money.
