Well, the girls finally got
around to winning a game on
Saturday afternoon in the dou-
ble-header with Listowel. The
score, 13-7. We had an excit-
ed bunch of girls.
Bonnie Willie came in with
a home run for Winghatn. They
had to bead a little to Listowel
in the second game after a hard
fought battle. Barb Dauphin
had two home runs and Marion
Willie had one. Wingham had
nine runs in the second inning
but slackened off. Perhaps the
girls ate too many sandwiches
and tarts between games for the
second game ended 20-13 for
Listowel, but they all had a very
sociable time 'in Pleasant Valley.
One thing, they like food.
We had to bribe one of the
girls to come home from the
lake to play by promising to get
an autograph from Pat (Whitey)
Stapleton, She got it--
We don't know what the Wil-
lies' eat before a game but it
must be spinach, While the
"Cuties" don't win many games
they sure have a lot of fun.
Thanks to all the mothers
who helped to supply lunch for
the teams in between games.

Wingham Lead
Randy Hafermehl slammed
out two doubles and a home run
to pace the Wingham Pee Wees
to a 16 to 11 victory over Brus-
sels in a game played on Tues-
day of last week.
Brussels took an early lead,
scoring one in the first but
Wingham came back with one
run in the second on Hafer-
mehi's homer. Brussels scored
again in the second but once
again the lead was short-lived
as Wingham picked up three
runs in the third. The locals
pounded out seven hits for sev-
en runs in the fourth to, put the
game out of reach of the last-
place Brussels team.
Dave Gibson and Carl Mow-
bray each collected a double
and single while Barry Gardner
and Ronnie Murray added two
hits apiece to the winners, Paul
Douglas connected for a two-
run homer for Wingham.
