Maureen Hanna led the sing-song. The minutes were read by Rhonda Fear. Next meeting will be May 18 with worship by Mary Grasby; sing- song by Kathy Chandler; clean- up crew, Mary ,,Crasby and San- dra Procter. It was decided to give $18 to the Missionary and Maintenance Fund. Mrs. Jackson announced the rally, to be held June 18 at the Goderich Summer Camp. The mother and daughter ban- quet will be on June 22 with the following committees in charge: Program, Rhonda Fear, Joan Rosman, Ruth Ann Pletch; clean- up committee supervised by Mrs. Gnay; decoration commit- tee, Linda McGee, Joyce Coul- tes, Audrey Coultes, Maureen Hanna; food lists, Mary Ellen Walsh, Mary Grasby. Linda McGee opened the worship service with a medita- tion. The theme was "For- giveness". The Scripture was read by Joyce Coultes. Laurajohn- Stoll was hostess for the Evening Unit of the U.C.W. in the church last Thursday when 20 members were present, Mrs. George Michie opened the meeting with the worship. The theme " God Speaks -- We Answer", was the story of the burning bush and God speaking to Moses. "Lord, Speak to Me, that I May Speak" was sung. Mrs. Michie offered prayer. The Ten Commandments writ- ten by Moses on the tablet were read from the hyrnnary and ex., plained. Mrs. Albert Bieman, leader of the unit, was in charge of the business. The minutes and roll call were read by secretary Mrs. Jack Higgins. A request was made that the articles for the bale be in by early June. Mrs. William Coultes led the mission study on "Mission Is Decision". She read two ex- cellent stories on mission prob- lems and a discussion was held as to how they could be over- come. Mrs. Ross Anderson conduct- ed the Bible study on common worship and lunch was served by Wilma Scott's group. BLUEVALE-The W M. S. met on Wednesday evening of last week at the home of Mrs. Pete Campbell. Mrs. W. Ro- bertson presided and opened the meeting with the call to wor- ship, followed by prayer. The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. The roll call was answered with a verse containing the word "thanks" . Mrs. B. Thomas had charge of the Bible and mission study. She spoke of her experience at the Synodical in Niagara. Mrs. Garnet Farrier, convener of supply and social assistance gave the call to worship. Mrs, G. Thompson read Scripture and gave the meditation. Mrs. Elwood Groskorth read a poem, "The Living Church", and Mrs. Milian Moore report- ed on the Presbyterial in Clin- ton. Mrs. Ezra Scholtz, ac- companied by Mrs. O. Farrier sang "Where Jesus Dwells". Mrs. Farrier gave the topic, dwelling on the problems of Brazilia, capital of Brazil. Mrs. Milian Moore presided for the business. Mrs. Farrier reported that $15.00 had been sent to the Blanket Fund for Overseas Relief. A birthday tea will be held at the next meet- ing, at the home of Mrs. Albert Coultes, June 1. Thank you notes were read from Mrs, Dan Tiffin, Mrs. Clarence Ritchie, Mrs. Claude Coffin and from the family of the late Kenneth Paterson. Rev. Geo. Mitchell gave the closing prayer. Dedicate Font WHITECHURCH-On Sunday afternoon at the United Church service, an oak baptismal font was given in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Ross Sr. by their family. The pastor, Rev. George Mitchell, dedicated the font, which was unveiled by their daughter, Mrs. Olive Boss of Wingham.
