fact, since the season started,
they have done nothing BUT
win their games.
In addition to the marvel-
lous goal-scorers whose names
dominated reports of the games
during the season, they have a
great defence line that de-
serves a mention of praise. So a
big pat on the back, and a
`thank-you' to all of the team
for bringing this honor to our
little village!
Big scorers in the last game,
played on Friday evening in
Wingham, were Richard Inglis
with seven and Brian Woolcock
with five. Bob Heffer scored
two and Leland Harkness one.
With the win they became
keepers of the Fordwich Feed
Mill Trophy for one year.
Manager-coach of the team
has been Jack Inglis, assisted by
Russell Press and the fathers of
members of the team. The
mothers helped too, by attend-
ing the games and screaming at
the tops of their lungs. But if
Mother got carried away some
night and screeched "C'mon,
Sweetie-pie!" she was told,
firmly but politely, to stay
away from future games!
The encouraging calls ap-
parently paid off, though, for
they are our champions, and
we're so proud that even our
street-lights are twinklingiCon-
gratulations, fellas. Be sure to
keep in practice until next
year! And to our opponents -
sorry, gang, but that's what ya
get for tanglin' with Belmore
Boys!

BELMORE—He shoots! He
scores! And with that call
coming from a small-town Bill
Hewitt for a total of fifteen
times, the Belmore Squirts be-
came 1966 champions!
The hockey season has end-
ed, and though Belmore is
proud of all its teams, we are
especially proud of our Squirts
who proved to be the top in
their League, The Tri-County.
They played five teams in the
league and ended up playing
Wroxeter Squirts in the finals.
They took the best-of-three
series in two straight games; in
