Pap,7, TOWER TO HOUSE WORLD'S largest electric carillon— With the tall buildings of Montreal in the background, the Levis Tower rises prominently on Ile Sainte -Helene in the St. Lawrence River. In 1967, the world's largest electric carillon will be installed on the tower to sound the open- „MM,,.1, .M ing and close of each day of the 1967 World Exhibition and to have outstanding musicians perform concerts dur- ing the period of the Exhibition. The Centenary Carillon will be sponsored by the Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada. Entertains Former High School Friends Miss Gwendolyne Martin of Brussels entertained some ofher former high school chums at her home on Boxing Day. They were Miss Carol Louttit of Wrox- eter, Misses Yvonne Conely and Anne Cardiff, and Mrs. James McNeil all of Brussels. Mrs. Martin Holds Music Recital A recital and Christmas par- ty was'held at the home of Mrs. Edwin Martin in Brussels. The pupils played technical work, carols, hymns, duets, trios, piano and violin duets, chosen selections, studies and grade selections and an Angli- can Venite duet. The door prize was won by Archie McDonald. The draw prizes were won by Dorene Car- diff, Pauline McCutcheon, Nancy Knight, Anne Stratychuk, Colleen Cardiff, Margaret Nichol and Doreen Riley. Small consolation prizes were won by Nancy Adams, Janet Cardiff, Connie McWhir- ter, Von McCutcheon, Gail McWhirter, Beverly and Joan Stephenson. A musical contest prize was won by Doreen Riley, Archie McDonald and Pauline McCut- cheon. Doreen Riley was presented with a music book for the most regular attendance.
