Hird officiated on Saturday in
Wroxeter United Church for the
wedding of Elaine Marie Mil-
ler of Guelph and Grant Mal-
colm Miller of Sudbury, Mrs.
Edwin Martin played the organ
and Miss Helen Dickhout of
Brampton sang "0 Perfect Love"
and "Wedding Prayer".
Mr, and Mrs. Archie Miller
of R. R. 2 Wroxeter are the par-
ents of the bride. The groom is
the son of M. C. Miller of Kit-
chener.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father. She wore
a floor -length gown of silk fail-
le with empire bodice, A-line
skirt sweeping into a floor train,
lace trimmed bodice and three-
quarter length sleeves with the
same pure lace trim. Her shoul-
der length veil was held by a
crown of seed pearls. She car-
ried Sweetheart roses, mums
and stephanotis.
Mrs. Beverley Brears was
matron of honor. Her floor -
length dress of royal blue vel-
vet had elbow -length sleeves
and empire waist. She carried
a white fur muff with blue and
white mums.
The other attendants were in
similar attire. The bridesmaids
were Miss Lynne Earls of Lon-
don, cousin of the bride, and
Mrs. Paul Kreller of Owen
Sound, and the flower girl was
Brenda Brears, niece of the
bride.
The best man was Peter De-
lorne of Kitchener. Ushers
were Ross Fell of Kitchener and
Kevin Crouse of Dundas.

decorated the tables in the com-
munity hall, where the recep-
tion was held, The bride's
mother received the guests in a
two-piece forest green velvet
dress with white accessories,
Mr, and Mrs, Miller travel-
led to Northern Ontario on their
honeymoon. The bride wore a
white wool suit with black ac-
cessories. They will reside in
Sudbury.
The bride is a graduate of
Guelph General hospital school
of nursing and the groom is a
graduate of Haileybury School
of Mining Engineers.
W.I. Euchre
WROXETER--The prizes for
the regular Women's Institute
euchre party went to Mrs. Har-
vey Simmons and Mrs. Harry
Adams, first and second for la-
dies; Clark Renwick and Wes
Underwood, first and second for
men, and Mrs. Harvey Reidt,
special bingo.

Mr. and Mrs. L. Taylor of
Kitchener were week -end visi-
tors with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Jacques.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jeffray
and family of Belmore were
visitors at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Robt. Wood on Friday eve-
ning.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ireland
and family of Teeswater and
Mr. Robt. Ferguson and child-
ren of Gorrie visited with the
Jack Fergusons on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wood,
Kaye and Kirk, visited at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil
Wilson of Fordwich on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. James Wallace
and family of Beaverton and Mr
and Mrs. Roy Burchill and fam-
ily of Goderich visited with Mr.
and Mrs. Stan Dennis over the
week -end.
Units Report at
Annual Meeting
BLUEVALE--The annual
meeting of the U.C.W. was
held in the United Church on
Thursday afternoon with a good
attendance.
The study program was in
charge of Unit Two and was
conducted by Mrs. Jim Elston.
It took the form of a candle-
light service with Mrs. Elston
giving the commentary and Mrs.
Harvey Edgar lighting the can-
dles which symbolized Christ,
Joy, Peace, Faith and Love.
Carols were sung and Scrip-
ture reading given by Mrs. Chas.
Bosman, Mrs. Mel Craig, Mrs.
Milton Fraser and Mrs. Glenn
Sellers.
The president, Mrs. Mel
Craig, presided for the business
session. Each of the three units
reported on activities during the
year.
The treasurer, Mrs. James
Johnston, reported all expenses
paid, the allocation met and a
substantial balance.
A missionary project report-
ed by Mrs. W. J. Peacock, sup-
ply convener, was the shipping
of three bales of used clothing
for overseas relief.
Mrs. George Fischer gave a
report on the Messengers. Don-
ations were made to the Sun-
day School and to the West-
minster Fund,

LAKELET--The annualmeet-
ing of the McIntosh United
Church Women was held on
Thursday at the home of the
president, Mrs. Jack Inglis.
The meeting opened with
the carol, "While Shepherds
Watched Their Flocks by Night".
A Scripture reading by Mrs.
James Busby was followed by a
story, "No Room", given by
Mrs. Oliver Dustow. A carol
and prayer concluded the wor-
ship.
Rev. Douglas L. Steven con-
ducted the election of officers
which resulted as follows; Presi-
dent, Mrs, Jack Inglis; lst vice-
president, Mrs. Harvey Wright;
2nd vice-president, Mrs, Wal-
ter Renwick; treasurer, Mrs.
Ivan Haskins; corr. secretary,
Mrs. Elmer Haskins,
The following committee
chairmen were appointed; pro-
gram, Mrs. Alan Darling;social
functions, Mrs. Bruce Harkness;
literature and periodicals, Mrs.
Robt. Wood; press and public-
ity, Mrs. David Harper; supply
and social assistance, Mrs. Mac
Inglis; finance, Mrs. Ivan Has-
kins; community friendship and

The study period consisted
of an interesting and appropri-
ate story, "The Real Meaning
of Christmas", given by Mrs.
David Harper. The meeting
closed with the Mizpah bene-
diction.
Christmas Theme
At U.C.W. Meeting
WROXETER--The regular
meeting of the U.C.W. was
held in the United Church
school room last Wednesday
evening.
"While Shepherds Watched
Their Flocks By Night" was sung
and Mrs. Mabel McLean gave a
reading, "A Letter to Santa
Claus". Mrs. Fraser read the
Scripture lesson.
Mrs. Geo. Gibson and Mrs.
Rae Louttit gave commentaries
on "How Shall We Observe
Christmas?" and "The Eternity
of Christmas". Another Christ-
mas carol was sung.
Colin Fingland gave a talk,
"The Spirit of Christmas Giv-
ing".
Mrs. Hupfer took the chair
for the business. Each conven-
er gave her report showing a
prosperous year for 1965,
Wroxeter
Mr. John McGee. London,
spent the week -end with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
McGee.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gibson
and Miss Susan of Gormley were
Saturday visitors with Misses El-
sie and Marion Gibson.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard In-
gram were in Rothsay last Wed-
nesday where they visited Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Noble and family.
Miss Elaine Sanderson, Kit-
chener, was a week -end visitor
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ross Sanderson.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pen-
ner and Darren of Nakina, On-
tario, are visiting her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Adams.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gib-
son, Hamilton, spent the week-
end with Misses Elsie and Mar-
ion Gibson.
Mr. and Mrs. Fraser Haugh
and Eileen visited Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Yuill,
Belgrave.
Week -end visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Lloyd Townsend were
Mr. and Mrs. Robt, Kerr of Oril-
lia.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Heim-
pel took up residence in the
new home which he built in his
spare time, last week.

To Live in Grand Bend
Rev. J. Mooney officiated
on November 27 for the mar-
riage of Nellie Marie De Groot
and Ronald Wray Sweitzer in
Sacred Heart R. C. Church. Mrs.
R. Campeau was organist.
The church was decorated
with potted yellow mums.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John De Groot of
Wingham and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Wray Sweit-
zer of Dashwood.
Mr. De Groot gave his daugh-
ter in marriage. Her bridal
gown was a full -skirted organza
over taffeta dress with imported
lace bodice and long pointed
sleeves. Her scalloped, French
illusion veil was embroidered
with pearls and sequins.
The maid of honor, Miss
Barbara Webber of Exeter, and
bridesmaids, Wilhelmina Bar-
low, sister of the bride and Bar-
bara Sweitzer, sister of the
groom, wore delph blue sata
peau dresses with bell skirts.
Each had a flowing wateau at-
tached to the shoulder with a
rose. The headpieces were a
matching rose with scalloped
back veiling.
Terri Brintnell of Granton,
cousin of the groom, was flower
girl. She wore a white nylon
dress with full skirt, over taffe-
ta.
Larry Ratz, cousin of the
groom, was best man. Bill De
Groot, brother of the bride, and
Ken Baker were ushers. The
ringbearer was Kevin Nixon of
Streetsville, nephew of the
bride.
A reception was held at Dan-
ny's Restaurant.
The bride's mother chose a
Marina blue lace and crepe
dress with matching accessor-
ies. Her corsage was pink
Sweetheart roses. The groom's
mother wore a royal blue bro-
cade dress with gold metallic
accessories and her corsage was
of yellow baby roses.
The young couple left on a
trip to the United States. The
bride travelled in a princess
style turquoise dress, white hat
and brown fur jacket. She wore
a corsage of yellow baby roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Sweitzer will
live at Grand Bend.
