Seven Welcomed
Into Scout Troop
A joint meeting of Wolf
Cub Packs A and B and the lst
Wingham Scout Troop was held
at the United Church last Thurs-
day evening for a special "Go-
ing Up Ceremony". This event
records the promotion of quali-
fied boys from Cubs to Scouts,
As Wolf Cubs they work and
strive to pass the many tests
and requirements until finally,
in the language of jungle lore,
both eyes are open. Then the
boys take the next step into the
wonderful world of Scouting.
Seven boys were presented to
Scoutmaster M. Fridenburg by
their Akelas. From Pack A,

The boys were required to
repeat their Cub promise and
take part in the Grand Howl for
the last time. They were con-
gratulated and wished "Good
Hunting" by their leaders. A
hearty shake of the left hand
was offered by their Sixes and
their leaders. Each boy was
then welcomed by a patrol lea-
der and escorted to his patrol.
The Packs closed their por-
tion of the meeting with the
Grand Howl and Cub prayer.
S. M. Fridenburg welcomed
the new Scouts and wished them
every success in their work. The
Troop then observed a moment's
silence and "The Queen" was
sung by Cubs, Scouts and guests,
Before the boys were dis-
missed, the parents and interest-
ed guests were thanked for corn-
ing out to share this important
step with them.
