For Bluevale Club
BLt'EVALE -- The sixth meet-
ing of the 4-11 homemaking
club was held at the home of
Mrs. Ken Johnston. Jane Camp-
bell was the secretary. Mrs.
Murray Johnston demonstrated
putting eyelet on a garment, a
inonogram, and applying lace
by hand,
The seventh meeting was
held at the home of Mrs. Mur-
ray Johnston. Brenda Glousher
read the minutes. Mrs. K.
Johnston showed the making of
a buttonhole by hand and the
girls each made one for their
books. Mrs. M. Johnston dem-
onstrated slip -stitching.
Mrs. K. Johnston was hos-
tess for the eighth meeting.
Ann Holt called the roll and
read the rninutes. It was de -
to hold the next meeting
the night before Achievement
Day. The books and garments
nust be in by December 18.
DANCE HELD
BLUEVALE—A dance was
held on Friday evening sponsor-
ed by the Community Hall
Board to raise funds for a new
heating system in the hall. Don
Robertson -and the Ranch Boys
provided the music for dancing.
BAKE SALE
BLUEVALE--The Ladies' Aid
of Knox Presbyterian Church
held a tea and bake sale in the
school room of the church on
F'riday afternoon. Everything
was sold and a substantial sum
was realized.

At Euchre
BLl'EVALE—Under the spon-
sorship of the Bluevale Recre-
ation Association, a euchre par-
ty was held in the cotnmunity
hall on Thursday evening.
Ten tables were in play.

ladies low score, Miss Brenda
Breckenridge; men's high, Geo.
Hetherington; men's low, Ken-
ny McNaughton; lucky number
prize, Mrs, Mungo McFarlane

A large crowd attended the
Fordyce concert on Friday eve-
ning. The prcgram was under
the direction of Mrs, George
Kennedy, the teacher, and Mrs.
Rodgers, music supervisor. The
winner of the turkey draw was
Steven Robinson of Belgrave.
Mrs. Everett Whytock of Tees-
water won the Christmas cake.
Miss W. D. Rutherford is
visiting in Windsor with Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Ord.
Mr. Tom Todd is attending
the Chicago Fair tliis week.

While working at Ripley, Mr.
Leslie Greenaway had the mis-
fortune to get a splinter of steel
in his eye on Saturday, An op-
eration was performed in Vic-
toria Hospital, London, to re-
move the steel.

Bee Held
LAKELET—This neighbour-
hood was literally humming on
Monday afternoon when 23 men
with eight chain saws and one
circular saw congregated at the
woodlot on the farm of Mrs.
Herb Burchill.
An estimated 35 to 40 cords
of wood were cut and drawn
from the bush to be used for
winter fuel for Mrs. Burchill
and her family.

GORRIE--Mrs. Wilbert Gal-
laway was high lady at the Gor-
rie Loyal Orange Lodge euchre
party held in their hall last
