Few Elections Required In Nearby Mun. lcipaiities
The outstanding characteris-
tic of most yearend nomina-
tions JR this area was the pre-
dominance of acclamations,
the great majority of munici-
palities completely avoiding
any appeal to the voters.
In Wingham however, there
will be an election for town
council. Elected by acclama-
tion were mayor, DeWitt Mil"
ler; reeve, Joe Kerr; deputy
reeve, Jack Alexander, all of
whom served in these same of-
fices last year.
Four public school trustees
were also elected by acclama
tion; Perry Holmes, Murray
Gerrie, Roy Bennett and Wil-
liam Harris. Mr. Holmes is a
newcomer to the board.
R. H. Lloyd was returned to
the Public Utilities Commission
by acclamation.
Nominated for town council
are nine contenders, of whom
six are to be elected in Mon-
day's voting. They are T, E.
Moszkowski, Warren Callan,
John Bateson, G. A. Williams,
G. W. Cruickshank and Harold
Wild, all members of the 1965
