Plan Assembly Former Resident
At Pt. Elgin Dies in Toronto
For Jehovah's Witnesses in
this area all roads lead to Port
Elgin this week -end for the
semi-annual circuit assembly.
Sessions begin on Friday eve-
ning and will continue through.
till Sunday afternoon, The en-
tire program will be held in the
Saugeen District High School.
It will be the first time that
such an occasion has been held
at Port Elgin,
"Assemblies are part of the
regular educational and train-
ing program for Jehovah's Wit-
nesses,"

Mrs. Anne B. Lawry, belov-
ed wife of George Lawry and
mother of Mrs. Ross (Dorothy)
Clark of Toronto. Mrs. N, (Bet-
ty) Doucette, Fort Frances and
William of Kenora, and the late
Clare Lawry, died suddenly at
her home, 37 Monkton Ave.
Toronto on November 4.
She had spent her early life,
until her marriage, near Bel -
more and was the daughter of
Mrs. J. Law. She taught at the
former Huntingfield School,
Funeral service was held at
the Turner and •Porter funeral
home on Saturday morning, No-
vember 6, with interment in
Glenacres Gardens.

his caustic wit received a leng--.
thy verse, written on perfumed
paper and tied with pink ribbon,
from; a contributor. The title
of the poem was, "I Wonder
Will He Miss Me?”
The editor read the poem,
frowned, and returned the ma-
terial with a note saying:.
"Dear madam, if he does,
he should never again be trust- •
ed with firearms."

Mr., Mrs. Henry
WHITECHURCH—On Satur-
day evening a wedding recep-
'tion was held in the memorial
hall for Mr, and Mrs. Wayne
Henry, who were married in
,the West.
A large crowd gathered to
lido them honor by dancing to
!music supplied by Tiffin's Or-
chestra, Before lunch was serv-
ed Mr. and Mrs. Henry were
called to the platform. Gary
Willis read an address on be-
half of the Whitechurch Junior
Softball team, of which Wayne
has been a member from Ban-
tam, Midget and Junior and
Alex Craig and Bill Robinson
presented a tri -light and a
magazine rack. Carl McClen-
aghan presented a gift of money,
Mr. and Mrs. Henry thanked
all for attending and those who
sponsored the occasion, and in-
vited them to their home in
Brampton.

met last Wednesday in the
church basement. President

meeting and minutes were read
by Rhonda Fear. The treasur-
er's report was given by Audrey
Coultes. Clean-up committee
for the ,meeting was Linda Mc
Gee and Joyce Coultes.
Committees for next meet-
ing: Games, Wanda Mason;
worship, Maureen Hanna; sing-
song, Linda McGee. The meet.
ing will be December 1 when
an initiation and lanyard ser-
vice will be held. Judy Chant-
ler led in a sing -song. The
group then divided for crafts.
• Joan Bosman was In charge
of the worship and opened with
a hymn. Scripture reading was
by Audrey Coultes and prayer
by Joan Bosman. The offering
was received by Rhonda Fear
and Joan closed the meeting
with prayer.
