Mrs. Scott Inglis was trans-
ferred from Victoria Hospital,
London, to Wingham and Dis-
trict Hospital on Monday oflast
week. Her friends in the area
hope her improvement will be
more rapid since she has been
moved closer to home.
Mrs, Fred Dustow of Wing-
harp visited with her son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Oliver Dustow, and many old
friends in the community, dur-
ing the past week.
A number from this area at-
tended the annual commence-
ment exercises of the Wingham
District High School on Friday
evening. Local students re-
ceiving awards were Lorna
Woods, Wayne Douglas and
Russell Press who were awarded
Secondary School honour gradu-
ation diplomas; Connie Cam-
eron, Marjorie Jeffray, Cathy
and Joan O'Malley, Carole and
Lynda Stokes who received
Secondary School certificates.
Mrs. Carl Douglas was in
charge of the evening's musical
numbers.
Many friends and neighbours
from the 2nd, attended the
wedding of Miss Margaret O'-
Malley and Mr. John Strong, in
Sacred Heart Roman Catholic
Church, Teeswater, on Satur-
day, and the reception which
followed in Formosa Commun-
ity Centre.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Marshall
of Stratford visited during the
week -end with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Wm. Curie.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Jo-
hann and sons visited on Sun-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Maurice
Klein and family, and Mrs.
Wm. Klein, all of Gowanstown.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Abra-
ham spent Sunday with Mr.
Mrs. John Worden and family
of St. Pauls.
Area viewers were pleased
to see Mrs. Wrn. Curie on Sun-
day evening's "Singtime" on
CKNX-TV. Mrs. Curie was
shown quilting, in a film about
the Ontario Hospital at Code -
rich.
Mrs. R. Appleby
Convenes Meeting
BELMORE--The November
meeting of the Women's Insti-
tute was held in the communi-
ty centre on Wednesday eve-
ning of last week. The topic
for the meeting was "Historical
Research and Current Events"
and the convener was the head
of that committee, Mrs. Reu-
ben Appleby.
The roll call was answered
by naming a Canadian artist or
author. Mrs. David Eadie
spoke on the motto, "Don't
back into the future".
Mrs. Appleby spoke about
the well-known owner of a bird
sanctuary in Ontario, Mr. Jack
Miner, and Mr. Higgins of
Wingham showed motion pic-
tures depicting various kinds of
birds.
Earlier this month members
of the Institute travelled to
Brucelea Haven at Walkerton,
to visit with the senior citizens
there.
BEDTIME BUDDIES
GORRIE—The fifth meeting
was held at the home of Ruth
Anne Taylor. Margaret Ben-
nett presided and Dawna Ben-
nett read the minutes. Roll
call was "Neater Writing".
The home assignment, work-
ing on garments and record
books, was continued and Mrs.
Ronald McClement showed how
to make a hand worked seam.

Remembrance Day
FORDWICH—Remembrance
Day services were held inTrin-
ity Anglican Church on Novem-
ber llth with Rev. Stewart of
the Presbyterian Church of Gor-
rie and Molesworth delivering
the sermon, assisted by Rev.
H. Jenkins and Rev. J. W.
Hind, Members of the Legion
Auxiliary attended in a body.
Rev. Stevens of the United
Church, Belmore, had charge
of the service at the cenotaph.
Legion members enjoyed a
banquet at night, catered to by
St. Martha's Guild of St. Steph-
en's Church, Gorrie.
On Sunday morning the Le-
gion and Auxiliary attended
church service in McIntosh Unit.

CONCLUDE COURSE
LAKELET—The final meet-
ing of the short course "Vege-
tables with a Flair" was held on
Thursday evening at the home
of the assistant leader, Mrs.
Lloyd Jacques. Those attend-
ing found it full of new ideas
and very interesting.
