YtI25WN Reception for Newlyweds BLUEVALE—A reception and dance was held in Bluevale Hall last Friday evening for Mr. and Mrs. Tom Winter (Gail Kirton). A large crowd was in attendance. Miss Sheila Ross read the address and Miss Linda Ross presented them with a gift of money. Prior to this event there was a miscellaneous shower for the bride in Knox Presbyterian Church. The hostesses were Miss Phyllis Grant, Misses Marg. aret and Frances Paulin and Miss Mary Craig. Bluevale News Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elliott motored to Cornwall for the week -end. Rev. G. C. Mitchell and Mrs. Mitchell attended the 75th anniversary of Dutton United Church on Sunday evening. Mr. Mitchell preached in the church from 1927 to 1931. Misses Mary and Ruby Duff and Mrs. M. L. Aitken, visited Mr. and Mrs. Donald Street and family, at Listowel, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mann and Connie visited Mr. and Mrs. Al Cherny and Peter in Erindale on Sunday. Mr. Bob Bitton of Chatham, visited Harvey Mann at the week -end. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wright visited Mrs. Jim Johnston in Listowel Hospital on Friday. PURCHASE LAND FOR CENTENNIAL PROJECT BLUEVALE—Turnberry Coun- cil has bought a piece of land in the village from Mr. C.B. Hoffman and will build a muni- cipal building as a centennial project. Presentation FORDWICH—A presentation and dance was held Friday night in the Fordwich Commurr ity hall in honor of Mr. and Mrs. David Schneider (Eliza- beth Armstrong) newlyweds. Miss Glenna Hibberd read the address and Gary Sothem presented the couple with a swivel rocker and pole lamp. David' and Elizabeth both ex- pressed their thanks. Music for dancing was supplied by Ken Schaefer's orchestra of Mild- may. No doubt the elderly cave man bored his friends and rela- tives by harking back to the "good old days." Euchre FORDWICH--A progressive euchre party was held under the auspices of the L,0,, L. 642 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Jacques. High winners were Mrs. Jack Leppington and Austin Stinson. Consolation prizes were won by Mrs. Fred Scott and E. Scott. The special prize went to Mrs. M. C. Campbell, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Guelph. They also visited with Miss Ardythe Campbell. Mr. C. Rouw of Hanover visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Anson Dernerling, Mrs. Rouw and Gary returned home after spending several days here. Mr. and Mrs. Anson Ruttan and Mrs. Ted Klaassen were at Melton airport Wednesday to meet Mr. Klaassen, who arriv- ed from a three weeks' visit with relatives in Germany.
