With the opening of their

sons -Sears order office, makes
a creditable addition to the

the up-to-date appearance of
the shopping district.
The building contains a to-
tal floor space of 7,80G square
feet of which 750 is allotted to
Simpsons -Sears. The remain.-

area and in the building there is
also a wiring supply depot for
materials required in construc-

brother, Frank Burke, who join-
ed the firm in 1951. The for-
mer is a past president of the
Wingham Kinsmen Club and is
actively interested in the de-
veloprnent of the community.
After serving in the RCAF for
three and a half years, Cal
Burke established his first elec*
trical business in 1t34v intheold
Cooke factory immediately
north of the CN crossing on Jose-
phine Street. In 195'2 the bus-
iness was moved to the present
site and the electric motor re-
pair and appliance lines were
added, In 1959 an addition to
the building was constructed,
doubling the available floor
space.
Can April 113, 1964 the build-
ing was so extensively damaged
by fire than the firm was forced
into temporary quarters in the
Supertest building at the corner
of Josephine and Victoria Streets,
from where it has carried on
business during the interval.
Simpsons -Sears will move
into their new quarters on Mon-
day of next week.
