In the two games played last
week in Brussels, the teams re-
mained on an even basis. Bel -
more boys slaughtered Mon-
crieff on Monday evening. The
score? We'll just whisper it --
22-5 (in case Moncrieff fans
are listening!). On Saturday
evening, Moncrieff again re-
mained very much in the pic-
ture with a 7-2 victory, Rus-
sell Press scoring both local
runs.
The final game is schedul-
ed for this Tuesday evening,
the 5th, in Brussels. It will
tell the tale!
New Scoutmaster
For Local Troop
The first meeting of the 1st
Wingham Scout Troop was held
at the Scout House last Wednes-
day evening when 28 Scouts
and four leaders were present.
After the opening ceremon-
ies A.S.M. Ross Hastings in-
troduced Murray Fridenburg as
the new Scoutmaster, replac-
ing Crawford Douglas who has
had to step down because of
other commitments.
Scoutmaster Fridenburg
spoke to the troop briefly and
placed special emphasis on full
uniform for meetings. He also
introduced A. S. M.Tom Russell
who has been in Scouting for
quite a number of years and
will be an asset to the troop,
The program consisted of a
review of the various aspectsof
Scouting.
Patrol leaders, seconds and
scouters attended an informal
meeting after the regular ses-
sion. The boys expressed a de-
sire for several changes and
every effort will be made to ful-
fill their wishes.
Scouter Fridenburg and the
other leaders would like to see
bicycle riding in the town of
Wingham brought up to a high
standard. Mr. Fridenburg stat-
ed that bicycle equipment must
meet certain requirements the
same as cars, and the same
rules of the road apply.
The meeting came to a
close with the scooters wishing
the boys a successful year in
Scouting.

Siberian Giant to
Bring Wrestling
Bouts to Arena
The Great Antonio Barich-
ievish, who claims a total
avoirdupois displacement of
465 pounds, has completed ar-
rangements to put on a display
of wrestling in the Wingham
arena next Thursday evening,
October 14th.
Highlight of the evening
comes when the bearded, long-
haired monster takes on two full
scale wrestlers at the same time.
They are Gerry Sparada, 410
pounds, from Italy, and the
Black Marvel, 380 pounds, from
Germany. Six additional bouts
between wrestlers who have ap-
peared on TV are scheduled.
Here are the specifications
Antonio gave The Advance -
Times about himself: The
world's strongest man, who can
lift two horses on a platform
from ground level. Claims to
have pulled four busses and
their passengers 500 feet, a to-
tal weight of 80 tons.
He was born in Siberia, Rus-
sia and three years ago married
his wife, Jeanine. The big
man says he has traveled around
the world eight times and in
Tokyo drew a crowd of three
and a half million people (the
figures are Antonio's). He also
says he is on the verge of sign-
ing a contract to make a movie
for 10 million dollars (again his
figures).
We haven's seen him in ac-
tion at the table, but his press
release states that he eats 90
eggs for breakfast and usually
goes for ten big steaks at a
meal, along with lots of pota-
toes, vegetables and fruit juice.
His shoes, he says, are size 24;
his suits size 70. His final
claim to farne is that he has
killed 25 bears with his hands
in his native Siberian woods.
If you think all this adds up
to a really out -sized individual
you are perfectly right. We
can't prove any of his claims,
and frankly, as we gazed up-
ward into his bearded counten-
ance we lost any faint urge to
give him any argument. If you
don't believe Antonio you'd bet-
ter
etter come to the arena and talk
it over with hire yourself.
