a 22 -year-old nurse
who earns $310 a month ($3,720 a year).

If Mary's earnings continue at
this rate until she reaches age
65, she will rcceivc a retirement
pension of $77.50 a month from
the Plan plus $75 a month
Oid Age Security.
Because Mary will have the
opportunity of contributing for
43 years, she can have as many as
6!L, years of lower or no
earnings and still be entitled to
the same pension.

Actually, Mary's retirement
pension will undoubtedly be
more. This is because as Mary
advances in her profession and
her earnings increase so will her
pension. Furthcrntore, to ensure
that all benefits under the Pian
maintain their value, they will
he adjusted to meet changes
iri living costs and wage levels
before they arc paid and changes
in living costs after they become
payable.
if Mary continues to work
and becomes disabled at any
time after 1970, she will be
entitled to a disability pension of
583.12 a month until she reaches
age 65. Frons then on she wilt
receive her retirement pension as
well as $75 a month from Old
Age Security.
if Mary dies any time after 1967,
having contributed until her
death, a lump sum payment of
$465 wilt be paid to her estate.
What will the Plan cost you?
If, like Mary, you are employed
and have earnings of $3,720
spread evenly over the year, you
will pay at the rate of $4.68
a month. Your employer will pay
the same amount.

UCW CONTINUES STUDY
OF BRAZIL AT MEETING
WHITECHURCH—The U. C.
W. met last Wednesday at the
home of Mrs. George Mitchell,
in Bluevale. While the group
assembled Mrs. Garnet Farrier
played, "0 Brother Man, Fold
to Thy Heart Thy Brother".
Mrs. Clarence Ritchie was in
charge of the worship service,
based on discrimination. Scrip-
ture was read by Mrs. Clifford
Laidlaw. Mrs. Robt. Laidlaw
led in prayer.
Mrs. E. Sleightholm gave
the story, "I Am Just a Member;
which proved that sometimes
the greatest work is done by
quiet members not holding any
office.
Mrs. Clarence Ritchie gave
the chapter from the study book
on the Amazon country, money
problems, misunderstandings,
mixing of races and racial dis-
crimination in Brazil. Mrs. Mil-
lan Moore gave the poem, "No
Sects in Heaven". The closing
prayer was given by Mrs. Rit-
chie.
Mrs. Moore presided for the
business. The minutes were
read by Mrs, Dan Tiffin and roll
call was answered by 16 mem-
bers with a verse having the
word "Steward" . Mrs. Russel
Gaunt received the offering
which was dedicated by Mrs.
Moore.
It was decided to have a
bake sale and bazaar in the fall.
The hostess and those taking
part in the meeting were thank-
ed and Mrs. Moore gave the
closing prayer.
Leaver Families
Hold Reunion
WHITECHURCH—On Sunday
the Leaver relatives held a re-
union at the home of Mr, and
Mrs. Norman Coultes, where
around 50 gathered to enjoy
games and contests, renew old
friendships and make new ones.
George Coultes of White-
church and Mrs. Coultes of
Pine Crest Manor, Lucknow,
were able to be present, with
guests from Goderich, Sarnia,
and Lambeth and the local cen-
tres.

bledee, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Doubledee, and Mr.
Murray Atmore of Toronto,
held in Oakville United Church
