Falls spent a few days last week

Rev. J. Mooney officiated
at Sacred Heart Church on Aug-
ust 14th for the wedding of
Ferne Vanstone, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Stanley Vanstone of
Wingham, and Richard Keith
Whittington, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Whittington of Galt.
Mr. Vanstone gave his daugh-
ter in marriage. She wore a
floor -length gown of white
French peau de faille. The
bodice was highlighted by a
bateau neckline touched with
appliques of delicate alencon
lace and had elbow -length
sleeves. A full flowing chapel
train cascaded from the should-
ers at the back, which was en-
hanced by a slit at the bottom,
silhouetted with appliques of
the same alencon lace. She
wore a French pure silk illusion •
finger-tip veil caught up by a
double pillbox headpiece.
Mrs. Larry Sharpe of Walker-
ton was matron of honor and

ham and Miss Terry Newell of
Preston were the bridesmaids.
They added an elegant back-
ground in floor -length gownsof
the same white French peau de
faille. Bateau necklines and
elbow -length sleeves, and gent-
ly controlled semi -sheath skirts
were features of the gowns. A
straight tailored panel fell from
a tiny bow at the back neck-
lines and to add a touch of col-
or to their ensembles they wore
fiery red petalled headpieces.
Kenneth Whittington was
best man for his brother and the
ushers were Gary Whittington
and Reinhold Mehring, all of
Galt.
The reception was held at
Danny's Restaurant.
Mr. and Mrs. Whittington
will live in Kitchener and the
groom will continue to teach
school in Galt,
They left on a trip to New
York, Pennsylvania, Delaware
and Ocean City and returned
along the Atlantic Coast.

Rosanna Worden entertained for
a miscellaneous shower at the
latter's home in London on
Thursday evening, in honor of
Miss Elizabeth Armstrong,
bride -elect of next month.
After a barbecue supper was
served Miss Armstrong was pre-
sented with many lovely gifts
for which, she thanked her fri-
ends. Those present were her
classmates of the 19114 gradua
tion class of Stratford General
hospital.
On Saturday evening Mrs.
Scott Clarkson and Miss Glenna
1lihberd also entertained at the
former's home for a miscellan-
eous shower. Contests and
games were enjoyed and Eliza-
beth thanked everyone for her
gifts. A delicious lunch was
served.
