Kennedy Convenes Programs BLUEVALE—Mrs. Gordon Murr. dell was hostess to the Bluevale Women's Institute on Wednes- day evening when Mrs. Harry Elliott presided over a large gathering. The roll call, "A memory gem from school days", recall- ed sentiments regarding pupils and teachers and was well an- swered. Mrs. T. E. Kennedy, con- vener of the program on Educa- tion, gave the motto, "Every word spoken in the hearing of little children tends toward the formation of character". Mrs. Osmond Goldthorpe, who formerly lived in England, gave a most interesting descrip- tion of the geography and social life of England, pointing out its beautiful countryside, numer- ous large cities, homes and schools, illustrated with maps and drawings. Mrs. R. J. McMurray out- lined the route to be taken in the bus trip to Brantford on Aug- ust 10th. A number of mem- bers gave current events in the news. Refreshments were provided by Mrs. J, V. Fischer, Mrs. Carl Johnston and Mrs. Kenny McNaughton. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stewart and children were in Oshawa last week where Jim underwent major surgery on his eyes. Mrs. Stewart and children visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stewart.
