Vera is still in hospital, but
it is expected she will be home
in time to attend our May 1st
banquet. Mery is now home,
and more than happy to be
there. When last speaking with
him, he said he certainly hoped
he would be able, to join us at
said banquet, as he was look-
ing forward to seeing the
Leaguers.
THURSDAY NIGHT
MIXED LEAGUE
Congratulations go out to
Matt's Meeces for winning the
season's bowling with a total of
108 points. In second place are
Ian's Idiots with 98. Tied with
97 points are Mac's Mules and
Wayne's Woofers for third.
Bill's Boobs have a total of 77
with. Hap's Happy Gang on the
bottom for a total of 69.
Elayne Rintoul bowled 272
for ladies' high single with 616
being bowled by Gwen Mac-
Laurin for high triple. Wayne
Brown bowled 263 and 716 for
high single and triple.
Next Thursday will start
three weeks of playoffs. May
the best ream win and good
luck to everyone.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT
MIXED LEAGUE
The trophies to be awarded
for the regular season bowling
are as follows:
The ladies' high single,
Anne Uphoff, 314; men's high
single, Bill Maclntyre, 300;
ladies' high average, Dorothy
Turner, 174; men's high aver-
age, Ken Saxton, 235; ladies'
high triple, Marion Maclntyre,
628 and men's high triple, Bob
Angus with 745. The high
team for the year was Ken's
Kats.
The first game of the play-
offs ended up with the Kats on
top, 3087; followed closely
by the Tigers with 3082;Hawks
are in third place with 2860;
the Larks fourth with 2828; Ro-
vers, fifth, with 2822 and the
Packers, 2798.
LADIES' LEAGUE
With one more week to go
of regular bowling it looks like
Marie's Wrens have top spot
with 75 points. Velma's Budg-
ies and Betty's Orioles have 60
points each. Sharon's Canaries
have 57 and Joyce's Robins
have 55. Irene's Bluejays have
41 points.
Sharon Sangster took the
high single of 276, and Joan
Yeoman had the high triple of
725.

Junior Bowling League Ends Season
The season of Wingham's
biggest little bowling league
came to a fitting climax last
Saturday with chocolate milk,
a hotdog feed and the presen-
tation of trophies.
BANTAM DIVISION
Paced by Bruce Henry with
122 average and Barry Gardner
with 109 average, the Boxers
captured the league champion-
ship. Other members of the
team were Kim Mellor, Helen
Holloway, Tom McLaughlin
and Bryan Shropshall.
Although nosed out by the
Boxers in the last week for the
league championship the Cor-
gis bounced back and led by
Brian Deyell with 107 average
and Margaret McLaughlin 110
average, captured the playoffs.
Other members of this team
were Steven Cruickshank, Jean-
ette Riley, Joanne Cameron
and Doug Thompson.
For the individual awards
Ruth Ann Redman topped the
girls with 121 average and Bill
Brown captured the high aver-
age for the boys with a 148
average. Candice Foxton in her
first year of bowling rolled a
nice single of 184, high for the
girls, while PaUl Forsyth had
the pins flying and took the
boy's high single of 212. For
the doubles Margaret McLaugh-
lin led the girls with 293 and
Don Shropshall the boys with a
367.
Something new this year was
a Most Improved Bowler award
donated by one of our Dots,
(Dot Cameron) which went to
Barry Gardner.
Watch out for these bowlers
next year, they like the game --
they had perfect attendance and
were given perfect attendance
awards: Marilyn Irwin, Bruce
Henry, Barry Gardner, David
Walker, Paul Forsyth and Brian
Deyell.
JUNIOR DIVISION
The top bowler of the year,
Larry Gordon with 186 average,
(better than anyone else even
in the Intermediate Division
and better than a lot of aver-
ages in the men's and mixed
leagues) led his team to the
League Championship. Other
members of this team were
Patti King, 108 average; Susan
Foxton, 120 average; and Greg
Carter, 133 average.
John Phillips with 165 aver-
age led his team to the playoffs
championship with strong assist-
ance from Jennifer Henderson,
132, Brian Cronkwright 151 and
Paul Gardner, 116.
For the individual awards,

Not just content with captur-
ing league championship high
average, Larry Gordon won the
Most Improved Bowler Award
donated by Dot Cameron. Con-
gratulations Larry on a wonder-
ful year of bowling.
Perfect attendance awards
went to Gail Irvine, David Bal-
ser, Rickey Gardner, Larry Gor-
don, Patti King, Greg Carter
and John Phillips.
INTERMEDIATE DIVISION
The Spades captured the
League Championships with one
of the best balanced teams in
the league. Team members
were Don Brooks 136 average,
Bruce Boyd 150, Sharon Reavie
118, Newt Richardson 159, Jan-
na Ewing 153, and Matt Rich-
ardson 123.
The Clubs rolled some fine
lines to capture the playoffs
with the following team mem-
bers; Don Rae 123 average,
Jamie Douglas 133, Alan Car-
ter 159, Barbara Henry 119,
Dianne Grove 151, Doug Mow-
bray 159. Congratulations to
the Clubs,
Janna Ewing retained the
high average for another year
with a fine 153 while Tom Mil-
ler topped the boys with a 174
average. High doubles were
girls, Rennie Zacharias 358,
boys, Doug Elliott 446. High
singles: girls, Dianne Grove
276; boys, Barrie Conron, 283.
In this league the Most Im-
proved Bowler Award went to
little Keith Henry --congratu-
lations Keith.
