SCALLOPED SALMON
1 lb. tin of salmon
1 cup ripe til •.es
5 tbsp. butte; or margarine
3cup ?or.
11 cups milk
small bay leaf
salt and pepper
cup grated peel onion
1 tsp. chopped parsley
cup dr" bread crunvos
cup grated cheddar cheese
METHOD
Flake the salmon and crush
the bones fine. Cut olives into
small pieces. Melt butter or
margarine in saucepan and
blend in flour, add milk, sea-
sonings, onion and parsley.
Cook until thickened. Remove
bay leaf. Place layer of sal-
mon in bottom of greased 12
quart casserole.
Sprinkle with olives, crumbs,
and cheese. Repeat alternately
until all ingredients are used,
finishing with crumbs and
cheese. Bake in 350 degrees
for 1 hour, serves 6.
NOODLE AND CHEESE RING
1 cup finely broken egg noodles
12 cups hot milk
1 cup soft bread crumbs
1/3 cup melted butter
6 egg yolks beaten
1 tbsp. red chopped pepper
1 tbsp. green chopped pepper
11 cups grated sharp cheddar
cheese
a tsp. celery salt
salt, pepper, paprika
a cup finely grated onion
METIIOD
Cook noodles in boiling
salted water, drain and rinse
well. Combine noodles, milk,
bread crumbs and butter and
the remaining ingredients.

METHOD
Combine bread, cottage
cheese, milk and melted but-
ter. Add remaining ingredients
and pour into buttered casser-
ole.
Place in a pan of water and
bake in 325 degree oven for
about one hour or until knife
comes out of centre clean,
Serve hot or cold with
cream. 1 cup raisins or drained
pineapple cubes can be added
for variety.

GORRIE-Ferns, candelabra,
baskets of snapdragons and
aqua and white mums decorat-
ed Gorrie United Church on
Saturday for the afternoon wed-
ding of Gwendolyn Dorothy
Hyndman of Gorrie and Alexan-
der Emerson Strong of Guelph.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harold John 1-Iynd-
man and the groom is the son
of Mrs. John Strong and the
late Mr.Strong.
Rev. Fred W. Taylor offici-
ated. Miss Lynda Johnston was
the organist and the soloist,
Miss Carol Robinson, sang
"Wedding Prayer" and " Wedding
Benediction",
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father. She wore a
floor -length gown of white silk
organza over taffeta with fitted
bodice and controlled skirt . The
bodice featured a high scoop
neckline and elbow -length
sleeves, and was accented with
Spanish Lace and small bows.
The hemline, sleeves and de-
tachable train were also accent-
ed
ccented with Spanish lace. A bow
headpiece held her bouffant
scalloped blusher illusion shoul-
ier-length veil and she carried
,white roses with aqua mums
and trailing ivy.
MR. AND MRS. GRANT M. PALMER were married at the
manse in Gorrie on Saturday, March 13th. The bride is
the former Winifred Munro, daughter of Mrs. A. Munro,
and the late Allan Munro, Wroxeter. Mr. Palmer is the
eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant A. Palmer, of Peter-
borough. Both Mr. and Mrs. Palmer are on the teaching
staff of the Wingham District High School.
Miss Joanne Strong, sister of
the groom and Miss Nancy El-
liott, both of Kitchener and
Mrs. Evelyn Stephens of Toron-
to were the bride's attendants.
They wore identical floor -
length gowns of aqua silk or-
ganza over taffeta with scoop
necklines, elbow -length sleeves,
fitted bodices and controlled
skirts. Detachable bows be-
decked the nylon and rayon
lace backs and their veils were
held by a silk organza bow.
They carried cascade bouquets
of white mums and trailing ivy.
Karen Hyndman of Gorrie,
cousin of the bride, wore a
floor -length white silk organza
over taffeta dress with scoop
neckline and controlled skirt.
The aqua silk organza cummer-
bund
ummerbund matched her bow head-
dress. She carried a basket of
white and aqua mums and trail-
ing ivy.
The best man was Donald
McDowell of Kitchener and the
ushers were Robert Strong, RR
1 Gorrie, brother of the groom,
and James Hyndman, brother
of the bride. The groom's
nephew, Wayne Strong ofGor-
rie was the ring bearer.
The reception was held at
Danny's Restaurant where the
bride's table was centered with
a three storey wedding cake.
White candles and aqua mums
decorated the guests' tables.
The bride's mother chose a
three-piece, double-knit suit,
pink and black patent acces-
sories and a corsage of pink
and white roses. The groom's
mother wore an aqua brocaded
silk taffeta sheath with fitted
jacket and pink accessories.
Her corsage was also pink and
white roses.
Mrs. Strong's travelling en-
semble was a three-piece
double knit suit with matching
flower hat, black patent ac-
cessories and a corsage of pink
and white roses.
The bride is employed at
the Toronto -Dominion Bank in
Gorrie and the groom is at-
tending Ontario Veterinary
College in Guelph.
Prior to her marriage Mrs.
Strong was entertained at a
shower by Mrs. William Strong,
and at another function at the
United Church, attended by
over 50 ladies.

Euchre Proceeds
For Bus Trip
Twenty-two tables were in
play at Sacred Heart parish
hall, for a euchre party spon-
sored by the separate school.
Miss Ceal Quillinan of Tees -
water was high lady, John de
Groot, high man and Mrs.Fran-
ces Burns of Gorrie won the
draw prize.
The teachers and pupils of
Sacred Heart School were pleas-
ed with the proceeds, which
with donations were well over
$50. They are grateful for this
support and the money will be
used for a bus trip before the
end of the school term.
Uniforms Urgently Needed
For Indian Scout Troop
Blue Water Region of Boy
Scouts of Canada, to which the
Saugeen District and conse-
quently the Wingham Troop be-
longs, has an Indian troop at
Cape Croker.
This troop was formed
about a year ago and is doing
very well under leadership
from band members themselves
However, the troop has no
money and many of the boys
still need uniforms. Any Scout
or former Scout is well aware
of the fact that a troop func-
tions at its best if all members
are uniformed, and feel that

BLUEVALE-On Thursday
evening a happy event took
place in the school room of the
United Church when many rela-
tives and friends attended to
honor Miss Anne Peacock, dau-
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Pea-
cock, in view of her approach-
ing marriage.
The schoolroom was decor-
ated with pink streamers and
flowers.
Mrs. W. K. Robertson conduct-
ed a lively sing song with Mrs.
Carl Johnston at the piano. Mrs,
Kenneth Johnston read a humor -
our poem.
Friends of the bride present-
ed an amusing burlesque show
in costume, with acting and
singing, concluding with a

Stephen's Anglican Church
held its March meeting at the
home of Mrs. Harry King on
Tuesday afternoon of last week.
The second vice president, Mrs.
Harry King presided for the
opening devotions when a hymn
was sung. Mrs. Earl Underwood
read the Scripture and Mrs.
John Dinsmore read a Lenten
message frorn the Diocese of
Fredericton church periodical
written by Archbishop O'Neil.
Roll call was answered with "
a verse on "fear" and Mrs. Nor-
man Wade presented many
comforting messages from the
Bible showing the need of faith
in God when fear seems to be
so prevalent in the troubled
times in which we live.
A letter from the group's
prayer partner, the Rev. George
Hamilton of Fort Simpson, N.
W.'1'., was read by Mrs. Edward
Newton.
Mrs, G. A. Anderson presided
for the business when minutes
were read by Mrs, R. T. Bennett
and financial reports given on
the hot supper and bazaar. It
was decided to give $140 to the
general fund of the church.
Contributions were made to the
general maintenance pledge of
the Diocesan W.A.; the admin-
istrative expense fund and af-
filiation fees of the W.A.
The next meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs. John
Dinsmore at 2:30 p.m. on
April 22, when the annual
thankoffering will be presented.
Mrs. Anderson closed the meet-
ing with prayer and the hostess
served refreshments.

a $200 Stratford Teachers' Col-
lege bursary. Miss Robb is a
Student at the college.
She is a granddaughter of
Mrs. Fred Dustow of Wingham
and the late Mr. Dustow.
