COMMERCIAL LEAGUE
One more game to finish
regular play, and it looks pretty
definite to me that the Lions
will take the trophy for the sea-
son. I won't predict second
place, though, because the Cou-
gars, Seals and Wildcats are
running neck and neck. It will
depend on what they come up
with next week.
Helen Casemore, Joan Yeo-
man and Jim Deneau receive
our thanks for tonight. Speak-
ing of spares, it has always been
our League ruling that no spares
fill in for our playoff games.
This year, there will be three
teams short one bowler, but
they are all in agreement that
our ruling should stand, and so,
much as we hate to lose you
nice people who have helped
us out so willingly and ably
during the season, we must
abide by our rules. Our sincere
BILL JOHNSTON, Shuter Street, Wingham, will make his
second TV appearance on CKNX-TV next Monday night at
10:30. Bili is one of the semifinalists in the Champion-
ship of Bowling for the Carling Cup, having defeated Bob
Williams, of Goderich, in the first game of the series last
February 1st. In the game next Monday he will meet Len
Myatt, of Owen Sound.
thanks for all your help.
Team standings: Lions 120;
Seals 105; Wildcats 97; Cougars
97; Tigers 85; Beavers 73.
Ruth Lott was wearing a
touch o' green tonight and
came up with the high single
of 298. Dot Cameron was also
wearin' her wee bit o' green,
and it paid off for her too, as
she took the high triple with
687. Frank Burke wasn't wear-
ing anything Irish, as far as I
could see, but he must have
been carrying a horseshoe in
his pocket, as he came up with
the men's high single of 275
and the high triple of 607.
At this point, with only one
game to go, I wish each and
every team good luck during
the playoffs. From what Iheard
tonight, though, no one is go-
ing to walk away with that tro-
phy without working mighty
hard. Just thought I would pass
this word along.
