Wingham and District Hospital
Association will be held on Fri-
day, February 5, 1965, .at 8 p.m.,
in the Recreation Room of the
Nurses' Residence at Wingham.

J. D. SHYNKAR
Former Teacher
Dies in Vancouver
Rev. James D, Shynkar pass-
ed away in Vancouver, B.C. on
Sunday, January 17 in his33rd
year. Mr. Shynkar had been
teaching in Vancouver the past
year and prior to that he served
the United Church as a mission-
ary to the Cree Indians at Sandy
Lake, Northexn Ontario.
Born in Windsor, he was a
graduate of Kennedy Collegiate
Institute and London Teachers'
College. He received his B.A.
degree from Victoria Univer-
sity in 1960 and Bachelor of
Divinity from Emmanuel Col-
lege, Toronto.
Mr. Shynkar is survived by
his wife, Gwendolyn and one
son David; his father and mo-
ther, Mr. and Mrs. William
Shynkar of Windsor; one bro-
ther in Windsor and a sister in
St. Thomas.
Burial took place in Windsor
from the Anderson funeral
home last Friday to Greenlawn
Cemetery.
He was a former teacher of
the Wingham Public School
staff.
Brother Dies
In Listowel
The funeral service for Jam-
es Edward Machan, 68, of Lis-
towel, who died Saturday at
his home after a lengthy illness,
was held Tuesday at the Mc-
Laughlin and Reed Funeral
Home, Listowel. Rev. L. G.
Stapleton of Listowel United
Church officiated.
Born in Grey Township in
1898, he was a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Machan.
He farmed in Grey Township
for many years before retiring
to Listowel. He was a member
of the Monkton Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife,
the former Jane Matilda Flood
whom he married in Logan
Township in 1921; four sons,
Ivan of Waterloo, Lawson of
North Bay, Keith of Auburn,
Clayton of Fordwich; five dau-
ghters, Mrs. Fred (Elaine) Lee
and Mrs. Duncan (Karen) Da-
vidson, both of Listowel, Mrs.
Clayton (Donalda) Fleibein of
Thamesford, Mrs. Robert( Mona)
McCreight of Niagara Falls,
Mrs, Allan (Wilma) Lowry of
Brampton; four brothers, llow-
ard of Wingham, Clifford of
Sarnia, Earl of Monkton, Leo-
nard of Brussels; one sister, Mrs.
Vallance (Mary) Inglis of At-
wood; and l7 grandchildren.
I3urial was in Fairview Ceme-
tery, Listowel.
The house cat is believed to
be a c.•oss between the sacred
cat of Egypt and the European
wildcat.
