3 -Day Assembly
Over 500 persons applauded
the Watchtower Society's two-
hour color film, "Proclaiming
Everlasting Good News Around
the World", as it was shown
during the Saturday evening
program of the Jehovah's Wit-
nesses' assembly held this week-
end in the high school. The
film showed the over 580, 000
persons from 161 lands attend-
ing the 24 conventions in prin-
cipal cities around the world.
The purpose of the film was to
demonstrate the similarities
between all forms of pagan re-
ligion in the world, past and
present.
On Sunday afternoon, J.
Scaglione, district supervisor of
Ontario, delivered the public
lecture, "Our Divided World --
Is It Here to Stay?" In part Mr.
Scaglione said, "The great '
technical advances of our 20th
century have largely Winded
mankind to the significance of
Bible prophecy as it applies to
our day. Despite this indiffer-
ence, there is an urgent need
for understanding Bible prophecy
as man's eternal destiny depends'
on it." Mr. Scaglione continu-
ed by saying, "There are an
amazing number of Bible pro-
phecies that have already been
fulfilled in our day, and more
are yet to be fulfilled in this
generation."
On Saturday afternoon five
delegates were baptized by to-
tal immersion.
E. Falconer, presiding mini-
ster serving this area said, "A
cafeteria, staffed with volun-
teer workers prepared and ser-
ved over 1500 meals during the
three-day event. The meals were
prepared in the school kitchen,"
The cafeteria was under the di-
rection of .Harl McNally ofClin-
ton and Ke,n Lyons of Mount
Forest.
Assembly delegates spoke
well of the hospitality of the
people of Wingham and of the
fine auditorium in the high
school, which made a valuable
contribution to the success of
the Assembly.
